http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/sunearthsystem/main/index.htmlMARCH 2009 ASTROLOGICAL OVERVIEW
http://www.daykeeperjournal.com/influences.shtmlHaving one of those periods when you can't decide what's right, wrong, good and bad? When in spite of difficulties you feel so strangely comfortable as to not feel particularly inclined to try anything new? That's one of many Piscean modes…as are those moment of revelation and boundless empowerment, as are those moments when life itself seems over, done and beyond coping with.
During the month when the Sun moves through Pisces, life is filled with these shifting visions, perceptions, inhibitions and inviting inspirations. But don't get too comfy, because as Mercury conjuncts Chiron at 22 Aquarius on March 3…then conjuncts Neptune on March 4, you're likely to be swimming peacefully when along comes a patch of thick water. To borrow from Goldilocks, this may be very (very) hot water. Or it might be freezing cold water—the proverbial icy shock. Or it might be just an unexpected shift in life's temperature which while not problematic is at the very least, unsettlingly unexpected. You may hit a bit of a situational eddy and need to stop—or you may be stymied. Or swept away in a full-on whirlpool which wrenches you from your old perspective or life or lifestyle, forcing you into something new. Is it good? Is it bad? Answer: it could be either—or both.

MARCH 17, 2009: Saturn's comparatively paper-thin rings are tilted edge on to Earth every 15 years. Because the orbits of Saturn's major satellites are in the ring plane, too, this alignment gives astronomers a rare opportunity to capture a truly spectacular parade of celestial bodies crossing the face of Saturn. Leading the parade is Saturn's giant moon Titan – larger than the planet Mercury. The frigid moon’s thick nitrogen atmosphere is tinted orange with the smoggy byproducts of sunlight interacting with methane and nitrogen. Several of the much smaller icy moons that are closer in to the planet line up along the upper edge of the rings. Hubble’s exquisite sharpness also reveals Saturn's banded cloud structure.

Saturn Transits
Saturn transits have been feared for centuries. The superficial reading is that they bring all sorts of calamities. In fact, they bring dissatisfaction and a desire for change. Ages ago, however, who could change? People were bound to the same routine year after year. When necessary changes aren’t made, Saturn transits tend to force them. This, to ancient peoples, was regarded as disaster. What Saturn transits really do is bring things to a conclusion. One cycle ends and another begins. And yes, these transits are associated with “Murphy’s Law”, if something can go wrong, it will. Suppose you are burning your candle at both ends. Saturn comes around and you get sick. Bad luck? No, just the results of the bad actions that you chose. Saturn transits simply tend to bring us the results of our actions, for better or worse. But if you have dotted all the i’s and crossed all the T’s, and took care of everything, Saturn transits can also bring rewards. If you have no loose ends in your life, Saturn will have nothing to chop off. Astrologer Noel Tyl, for instance, mentions a case of someone he knew who got a scholarship to study music in Europe when Saturn was making an opposition aspect to his Sun. He had to work long and hard to get it, and he would have to continue to work because the grant was dependent on his grades. A gift of money from Saturn, but there are always strings attached: hard work, effort, and discipline. The best way to handle Saturn transits is to look way ahead and see when they are coming. Will Saturn be going through your 2nd House (money) next year? Better start saving right now to make sure that you have reserve cash. Perhaps Saturn is headed for your 6th House (work). This could mean extra demands on the job. It could even mean no job. Update your resume, just in case. Yes, Saturn periods can be hard, but if you handle them right, the rewards you get are solid and long-lasting.
Pisces month overview

The Venus clock struck Aries back on February 3, and thanks to a retrograde, Venus won't move on into a more cuddly Taurus tone until early June. Yes, you did hear me right: June. Meanwhile we're all in for a draining and inflaming time—a fact residents of southern Australia know all too well, what with all fires there. All by itself Venus in Aries can be selfish, destructive, or even self-destructive.
As for Venus retrograde, the colloquial term "sucky" works fine here. But it isn't all bad. Far from it! From the implied unity of Venus in Mars' more physical home sign we get the idea of renewal of Self, and that fits well with retrograde, since all retrogrades are about some process becoming internalized. So with Venus going retrograde on March 6, we're entering a time all about giving (re)birth to ourselves…which not only sounds awkward, but in practice is likely to be awkward. And in the moment, really annoying—no doubt!
We'll want encouragement, but everybody's busy. Or preoccupied. Or overwhelmed. And even when someone does respond, we'll often end up feeling critiqued, threatened, diminished, incapable and generally underwhelmed by their efforts, if not totally put off by their appearing to care more about themselves than us. Much frustration? That we can count on. But try not to take it personally, because if (and to the extent that) you're really willing to dig deep and get honest, if you're willing to clean out some cluttered psychological closets and throw open whatever windows of your soul are shuttered tight, if you're willing to take up the sword of Aries courage…Then ultimately you'll find your way to a delicious Venus reward. But first comes the trial, the deprivation, the work. No, not fun. But productive!
And remember—if you believe things happen when they should, we can all breathe more easily. But…why should we believe that? Because there is only one Existence. The "Now" of being alive, of being present, of being on this Earth is the very essence of Existence. To put it scientifically, we're all the continuation of the Big Bang. To put it religiously, you are the exhalation of God. That's why everything you do is precious, why everything anyone does is a treasure, why nothing about you should be wasted—even for a moment! But that job of being you? That's your job.
<snip>
As Venus goes retrograde at 15 Aries, it's a highly potent moment. You'll either see what is possible (and recognize what you have to do to get there) or feel totally despondent. In letting go of that which seems futile, begin working on what you can do, which is the whole point of Venus retrograde in Aries. A fractious atmosphere scatters thoughts, efforts and decisions until Mars moves into Pisces on March 15—at which point everyone will (most unhelpfully) get all prickly, touchy and sensitive. Some will respond to situations with anger, but it's the pain, angst, fears and fractured hopes which will seem most widespread. Money, morals and emotions—they all will need managing and will all be subject to lack of management and mismanagement.
