The economy and the planet. |
|
I feel myself wishing that the economy doesn't return to it's former "healthy" state.
With wealth comes expansion. And in the mind of a developer, nowhere is sacred--they'd build 7-11's in the Grand Canyon if it was legal.
The planet can't take much more human expansion.
What do you think will happen with the environment in the years to come...?

1. I think the planet and the economy will both undergo great changes |
|
and be reborn. I see an economy based on compassion, where there is no need for greed because there is enough for all. The planet will be healed by those wise ones who know and understand what is needed to keep this a viable place for life.

2. Do you really feel that, or is it only wishful thinking? |
|
I hear rumors of the economy and housing industry starting to rebound, and I think "Okay, here we go again--down the wrong path of unlimited consumption."
I really really hope things are changing for the best.

4. I see the beginnings of change |
|
right here where I work and live. I think it will happen slowly, though.

6. Can you give some examples? |
|
I'll try to look for the same things here.

7. People coming together |
|
We've had folks move in from all over the country and the world. They are starting small spiritual centers/ businesses. The Foundation is networking with folks who not only do various healing modalities, but also an heirloom seed greenhouse. We're hoping to expand our promotion to include referring people to the various organic farmers. Plus we have a standing policy of "paying it forward" as far as settling bills--we give patients credit for volunteering services at the women's shelter, etc.
There are several local county recycling centers where one can take recyclables--and one has a "free store" where items that can be repaired are fixed up and then given away.

9. Those are all good things. I hope they start happening in the |
|
large communities as well, on a worldwide scale.

I've been telling people for six months now that there's got to be something beyond what we know. It's hard for me to put into words, which makes it very difficult for people to "hear" me - but there's no way we can keep on with our unfettered growth and expansion. No way.
I'm not sure what's on the other side - I can only get glimpses now and then - but it sure doesn't look or feel like the old.

filled with dread. There's an excitement, an anticipation, but also some worries because it can't be seen clearly.
