Future Visions Foundation--Health Care for the 21st Century
This is the name of the Foundation where I've worked since June of last year. Actually, I've been associated with it since 2001, when I traded making the website for an initial office visit. OneGrassRoot has encouraged me to tell you all more about the Foundation, so this is why I'm posting this thread.

The idea behind this non profit health education foundation is to get people healthy using all healing modalities (that means not only "regular" medicine but alternatives, supplements, and energy healing) and then to teach them how to stay healthy by proper diet, exercise, and supplementation. By "proper" I mean what is right for them as an individual. At the Foundation, we are all about the fact that each person is an individual, and they are treated individually--and with compassion and respect.

We have gone from an idea to a demonstration clinic to an education center. We have as our vision now a hospital, a place for healing AND for teaching--not only of the general public, but also of medical students and doctors who wish to learn more about Integrative Medicine. We want it to be a place were people can come and not worry about cost. (Right now we often do office visits for no charge and have set up a fund to pay for lab fees for folks who can't afford to pay, but we are limited because of funds, which come from donations.)

If you would like to learn more about our vision, please go to:

1. As you know, I think this is simply awesome.....
I'd love to see a Future Visions Center in every community...with the model you're working from. I resonate very strong with what you are doing, as you know. :)

There is such integrity. You can feel it when you go to the site. Pure and simple.

:)

3. Thanks
We're working on a page on autism. Doc is one of two physicians in Arkansas that follows D.A.N. (Defeat Autism Now!) protocols. We have dozens of autistic patients that we've been able to help through changes in diet, giving proper supplementation, and giving prescriptions for things like Vitamin B 12 shots. The kiddos need to be tested periodically to make sure that levels of organic acid and the like have remained the same--treatment is adjusted accordingly. What happens to these kids is remarkable. They start developing like normal kids. Some have been able to leave special ed classes.

4. I'm glad to hear that!
It is amazing how using the wisdom of all fields of healing will help a patient--and makes you wonder why so many MDs won't do it.

5. My integrative doc was amazing, unfortunately the cost of supplements
ended my quest for much better health. Since I cannot afford the sups any longer, my health has deteriorated. I eat healthy (as I can afford) and keep moving, but my energy is gone.

I can only get things done these days by chewing B-12 gum. It works well for short periods.

"Alternative" medicine is eons old, pharmaceutical med is a split second from history and has caused more harm, in many ways, than good.

My g-g-grandmother made aconite for fevers. It worked.

6. We have a Naturopath on staff
who gives people tips on making their own remedies from native plants, etc. Would your energy issues be related to magnesium, or only B-12?

9. I've started trying a small dose of mag recently, hopefully it helps.

Main problem, besides CFD, fibro, severe Vitamin D deficiency, borderline Type 2 and chronic pain from an non-joined break of my fibula and tarsus (which is throwing my entire frame out of whack) and a chronically tearing Achilles tendon, is my adrenal gland exhaustion.

Just wore out from overuse I guess. :)

Does your foundation have a site with recipes for NW PA plant remedies? Often thought of becoming a naturopath, but finances always kick it down. It will be so important to know these things in the coming years.

Thanks for all the caring info you give here, ayesha. It matters.

7. Goodness....
I wanted to jump in and give you hugs, Mnemosyne.

Ayesha seems to be a veritable wealth of information in this regard, which is a real godsend. I also started a Wellness & Healing forum at Wishadoo with all of us in mind.

I started using yam-based progesterone cream -- not really for perimenopausal symptoms, but more for energy -- and, after a rocky first two weeks, I really can tell a difference.

But I hear you about supplements; geesh, they can be just as expensive as prescription medicines! It's ridiculous.

Maybe (if we get the energy...lol) we can come up with some clever ideas in this regard. Using all of Ayesha and their foundation's wisdom and guidance, and maybe even developing a coop program or something of that sort for supplements we can't obtain ourselves in our natural surroundings.

I don't know....just thinking....and wishing you a rebirth into wellness. :grouphug:

10. What a sweet reply, OGR. I haven't posted much in this forum, but you all have my heart.

It is so calming to read here everyday. Just brings me a peace knowing such loving and smart people exist in the world out there.:grouphug:

A coop sounds wonderful too! When I think of so many folks that need help, other than the many poisons shoved on us, I want to help. I miss the difference in my health from the supps, but at nearly $150 a month, rarely have any anymore.

I'll be logging into Wishadoo next week to see how I may help, unless you have something to suggest now. :)

Beautiful graphic, btw. Thanks for all of your caring and giving, we have some of the most beautiful souls I have ever felt here.

Namaste.
