It was the thread about the threads about indigo kids in GD that made me want to post, but it's locked and I don't want to get this one locked. If you want to talk more about that, send me a PM. I know you guys are nice and won't bite so I might have the courage to read your PMs.

Just to admit upfront - I don't really believe in astrology or a lot of the supernatural/psychic things that you guys talk about in here. But it seems like a nice active place with people that I could get along with, so hey. Plus I do like to check out astrology stuff. I like the symbolism and it can also provide insights into human nature and the "gestalt".

Also, I can identify with a lot of the personal emotional stuff in here. I'm really struggling at the moment with accepting greed, selfishness, hate, war, and just human evil in general. As I've said in other posts on other forums - sometimes I feel like a mental and emotional neocon, judging people because they weren't born into mental and emotional wealth like I was.

In reading threads in this forum, I see that a lot of people here struggle with that too and your posts are really helping me.

And for the most part people here are respectful of the various opinions expressed.

There are any number of things that posters here believe in that I don't necessarily go along with, but I realize that I certainly don't have all the answers, and just because I haven't experienced something doesn't mean it's not true or valid.

I think the best thing is that different ways of thinking about lots of stuff can be discussed here. Different interpretations can be suggested. And sometimes strong disagreements also occur, but I think there's a lot less flaming here than in many other parts of DU.

13. I remember my first Circle

The connection was so deep that I was horrified that I was in the room. I remember thinking...so this is why they killed all the witches! That was 30 years ago. I have spent my life opening to who I am as a being/spirit or is that spirit being? When I stepped through the opening of other worlds that could not be seen or touched, my life truly became enriched.

I have found that all of "this" is validated in science. That is why this sphere of study is called metaphysics. Quantum physics has shown that there are at least 11 dimensions. The 10th dimension is music. I am still learning everyday.

What I have figured out is that all of us have our pet outrageous things we "believe" in, or we have found to be true through experience. But most of us are open minded and realize that we have a lot to learn about it all.

Personally, I think science advances, and things that would have been preposterous a hundred years ago are now accepted. Another thing I have come to realize is that what is old is new again (example: windmills, LOL). Don't discount the wisdom of experience. And a lot of the stuff discussed here is emerging science, I feel.

As for symbols, I LOVE SYMBOLS. I'm not great at interpreting them, because I am rather literal minded. Symbols are so tied to our psyches, not only by "conditioning" but by their uses over the eons (think 100 exponential monkeys).

Anyway, I am sure you will love this place. Like you, I am not really into astrology, but I love reading about it here. I know my sun sign, and I'd like to be able to figure out the financial markets using it. Hanging around here has made me look up at the starry sky a lot more.
