Paranormal State on A & E...what do you think?
I've been watching it for a few weeks, and in my opinion it's the only really good ghost-hunting show on television.

I'm always channel surfing out of boredom. Please give me a day and time(EST), and I'll be sure to catch it, then get back to you. OK??
Thanks so much. JA

2. I saw part of an episode and was very disappointed
a family asked them in after a son killed himself believing a negative entity harassed him and so helped cause his suicide. They tried to detect the entity at night at the time the young man who does all the talking says Jesus died because that is the best time to make contact??? They even had the Mother try to confront the entity to get it to show. I did not like that at all. Frankly calling out a suspected negative entity believed to be bad enough to torment a person as badly as depicted is as wise as going up to an angry bull and punching it in the nose. Even if there was someone trained and knowledgable on in the group to exorcise or drive out the entity I would think it dumb to basically tell the thing 'bring it on'. So after all the testing and hullabaloo they left and didn't try to do anything to remove the entity or call in someone to do it leaving it loose to harass and mess with the mind of anyone sensitive in it's range. I don't understand how someone who at least halfway believes in this stuff would be willing to do that.

4. That's strange. I never saw that episode. In all the ones I've
seen, they've been very respectful of those who have passed, and supposed demonic hauntings have always been cleansed by a religious ritual.

10. If they cleansed this one it was during the part I missed
and from what I felt when I saw that partial episode and still pick up on just thinking about that case it did *not* work. Whatever that thing exactly is I don't know but I do know it radiates evil. Encouraging or even *allowing* a person living with such an entity to taunt and challenge it is disturbing to me. Encouraging or allowing it when they don't have a clue whether any clearing will send the entity off to some place it can't cause further harm - that I personally consider unethical.

I am no expert on entities. I just know as a sensitive myself who has been in the presence of someone I honestly believe was possessed that it is reckless to fool around with those things for the sake of science or whatever justification is used for it. I don't know how much harm these things can do whether they are limited to manipulating mind and emotions of more psychicly open people or if they can do more but even so just as I would expect a good doctor to try limit access to someone carrying a contageous disease that only 10% of people would catch until they could cure or reduce the disease until it wasn't contageous.

11. You're right--such behavior is irresponsible.
I grew up with a ghost in my room and know how threatened one can feel.

He wasn't demonic but he had an ugly nature. I don't wish for anyone to live with something like that.

13. I wish knowledge of how to properly deal with harmful entities was common
taken seriously, and some sort of properly trained ghostbuster is brought in to remove and relocate it where it can't cause anyone else trouble. There was something for decades in one of my Grandmother's basements. Scared the dickens out of me as a kid if she asked me to fetch something for her (freezer & washer/dryer is down there). It bothered me as an adult until I finally took my senses seriously as prayed for whatever the heck it was to be removed to a place it couldn't cause further harm and thankfully it was granted. Nothing has turned up back there in the 2-3 years since that day. When I asked my Mother one day when we were visiting if it had ever bothered her to be there after telling her it used to give me the creeps she admitted something creeped her out but it felt different. It was nice to have my perceptions confirmed by a skeptic. Something *really* interesting is that light now penetrates further into the back of the room than before and behind the furnace & stairs than it ever did before. It is like replacing a 30 watt bulb with a 120 watt. I don't know what exactly the entity was other than it felt like it had never been human. Someone had been murdered on the property many years, maybe decades before my Grandmother bought it so I wonder did the entity predate that, was it some how attracted to that, or something else entirely. Well in the end the most important thing is it is GONE and hasn't returned.

3. I consider it to be scripted drama rather than "reality" t.v., but it's good scripted drama.

And I have a vague crush on Ryan, even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't swing my way.

I'm on the east coast, and I wouldn't be such a pain about it, but I don't get a newspaper or TV guide.(can't afford them) I would really like to catch this show. The only one I've been able to see is the one on SCI FI Channel on Wed. nights."TAPS" out of Warwick R.I. Show is "Ghost Hunters"
 Thanks! JA (sorry, I see that's it's on A&E ) but still need day and time.

5. There are only 2 shows that get real good evidence...
Paranormal State and Ghost Adventures. these guys know to keep the cameras on the object, not themselves...and they know when to shut up and listen.

I hate the british lady...her and her friends get all scared and scream so they can't get any sound evidence, and they are always looking at themselves or eachothers faces, not the area around them.

I have loved paranormal information since I was a kid. So glad I have never had to live with a spirit though.
All the "spirits" that are around me are called upon, and I am really big on protecting my home and grounds every night before sleep.

6. If any of those people ever actually found paranormal experiences, they'd freak
and as Lao Tzu said, "everyone would tell their brother".

18. LOLOL...too funny, Fire Walk.
   I'm only cracking up because in my experience it's so true. When I saw my grandfather in our kitchen shortly after he died, I had a meltdown. The same with my paternal grand-dad but not as severe. So I ask them please visit in my dreams and coming as balls of lights is very cool.
But I've seen the guys on Ghost Hunter freak when it's really happening and they're not watching a tape.

15. I try to watch all the paranormal shows I can---
Ghost Hunters on Scifi is my favorite along with Ghost Hunters International. GH will try and debunk before saying a place is truly haunted but they also show respect for the spirits that roam. Watching some of their evidence is too cool and their all night Halloween specials are alot of fun. Paranormal State is pretty good along with Ghost Adventures, Most Haunted isnt one of my favorites. I also watch Haunted History, Ghostly Encounters, Psychic Kids and Psychic Investigators just to name a few. My graddaughter likes Ghost Trackers which is a kids ghost hunting show. There is more out there than just meets the eye and people must understand we are not alone.

16. I don't find it to be the real deal, IMHO, it is faux, I'm esp. appalled
at the older guy with the earringed lobe. Does he have a clue as to how ridiculous he looks? That aside, it is entertainment for the minions, not at all genuine, as are all the other "shows" of this type. Just another "reality" slant.

17. I've got mixed emotions about it.
It does seem to have a realistic tone, but I get the feeling it is ripe for ridicule & has an underlying agenda to draw negative attention to the subject.

Not confident of the true sincerity of the show. I'd be interested to hear what students at the university that sponsors it have to say.
