If any of you could help send Poppy my Goat to the Otherside, we would appreciate it
Poppy has been sick and I believe it is her time to go. She started losing her appetite last week as far as her store bought food. She still love getting our kitchen scrapes, banana peels, apples, bread, carrots, and leaves from the trees.

However, that hasn't been enough to help her overcome her illness. We didn't have the money to take her to the vet, mainly because one of our clients has been withholding our invoices since September.

Today Poppy is unable to move. Her legs are too wobbly to hold her up:cry: My hubby fed her an apple and we brought her some fresh water, which she took a long drink. It was hard watching her try to stand up, I tried to help her but she just didn't have the strength to get up.

I went out to visit her and told her it was okay to set her spirit free so she could be released from her pain, and that she could go to be with Casper. That Casper was waiting on her so they could once again butt heads and lock horns.

This year has been a very trying year for us, as we have lost 3 of our beloved pets. I have never experienced so many loses within such a short amount of time.

So, if any of you can help send her crossing over blessings and to help make it a gentle crossing we ( Poppy, and me ) would appreciate it.

Poppy Kisses Casper

1. Sending some Reiki to all of you
How beautiful she and Casper look together! And the background in your picture is rather mystical too. So sorry you had so many loved ones leave you. Hope the new year brings better times for your family.

It has been a rough year.

Thankfully my candidate won this year, that helps alleviate some of my personal pain.

Edit: I forgot to give you a

3. Sending love and light and crossover energy to Poppy
Your picture of these precious animals has touched me so. Here's sending you love and energy for your losses.

Just a thought--is there an agricultural extension department in your state? My thought was that perhaps they could help find you a vet who would help pro bono.

Love and light,
Bluestar

4. We do in Texas
However, there is a problem with contacting them as they require that goats have paperwork when they are changed from one owner to another. We do not have any papers. My BIL gave Poppy and Casper to my FIL, after my FIL passed away we took Poppy and Casper. When Casper died is when I found out about the AED and the required paperwork.

Another thing I learned about goats is they don't have a very long life span. At least Poppy and Casper had a good life with my FIL and us. Now it's time for Poppy to join her life time companion Casper.

5. We just back from moving Poppy to her make shift house
We had turned a trailer that my FIL had made into a make shift house for Poppy and Casper. We didn't know it at the time but goats don't like to get wet. Once when we were at P & C's old home it started to rain and they were trying to keep dry under the big building's very small overhang.

So, when we moved them here with us we made them a shelter out of the trailer. They loved it. And since it was on wheels we could move it around their yard.

Now, Poppy is inside because we are expecting rain tomorrow, early morning. She is still with us for now although she does seem to be uncomfortable. She drank a little more water. We moved her on top of king sized sheet we don't use. Then we carried her to her trailer, and put the gate up ( it's a removable gate ) so the rain might not get in.

I'll check in on her in the morning after I get up.

Thanks to everyone for the energy.

7. I send you all huge hugs of love and comfort....
I experienced a multitude of losses in a short time as well, along with many 3D trials on top of losing loved ones -- two-legged and four-legged -- so my heart has felt like it is in shreds.

You probably feel your heart is in shreds, too, so I send you more hugs than you can imagine. To all of you.

6. Blessings to you, Poppy.
What a joy you were in this life - I thank you for being here to love us.

We don't want you to suffer - it's OK for you to cross over and be with us in spirit. You'll get to see Casper and MagickMuffin's dad ... and lots of others who will love to see you run and play and move without pain.

Oh, we'll miss you alright - we'll cry and wish you were still here with us. We'll have this empty space in our lives where you used to live. But we love you and only want what's best for you. We'll say goodbye when you are ready.

Know that we are surrounding you with love and with loving energies to help you make it to the other side. You have been such a blessing to us. Thank you and God speed - may she walk with you as you cross over.

I hope Poppy may want to return again, although I don't think it will be with me. Goats just don't live long enough and they tend to have a lot of health issues I was unaware of.

But if Poppy and Casper come back hopefully it will be a place with lots of room to roam.

11. Sending healing light to Poppy
so she can let go and be with Casper. And blessings to you, too, Magick; it's so hard to lose our furry friends. Don't feel bad about not being able to get her to a vet. I took Pia the goat to 4 different vets over the couple years I had her. Only the last one had a clue what was wrong with her and she wasn't really able to help her anyway.

Sending love by distance. I hope that helps as I don't have a crossing over technique. But I am thinking good and peaceful thoughts about Poppy.

Poppy, by the way, is what my kids called their grandfather, so I have a special affection.

13. Update: Poppy is still hanging in there,
but I have made an appointment for tomorrow to have her put to sleep.

It's such a hard decision, and I hate having to make that call. But I know she will never get any better, so, we are going to take her in and stay with her until she goes off to sleep:cry:

I know in my heart that she will be better off in the long run. She will get to go meet Casper and they will be glad to see one another. That's what I tell Poppy and myself.

29. Update: Poppy has left this Earthly Plane
We took Poppy to the vet to have her journey start anew. It was a very hard decision but it was the right decision. She could no longer walk and wasn't eating much.

Hubby told me she bahhed at me when I went out to see her:cry:

Before we took her in, we gave her the rest of her Granny Smith Apple, and some water. We had to carry her to the truck in a makeshift tarp out of some vinyl we have, it's the same vinyl we used to add to the top of her makeshift shelter.

It will be so hard not having our Poppy and Casper to take our left over food to eat. They loved spaghetti, apples, pears, bananas and peels, carrots, sweet potatoes, potatoes, rice, corn tortillas/chips, oatmeal, cornbread, homemade bread, and cookies. We also gave them sweet goat chow, and coastal hay.

I'm sure the next few days will be very hard dealing with our loss, but considering the alternative it will be something we will adjust to in the next few weeks.

33. My heart is with you
I have been reading this thread hoping that Poppy crossed. I too, had a wonderful goat, Sadie, that had to leave a few years back. It is so horrible to see them come to the end of this road.

Goats are so awesome.

Cry and cry some more. In time you will remember all the funny things that she did and all the times that she made you mad. And then you will laugh and celebrate her life.

I am so sorry MajickMuffin for your loss.

I don't know if it's because I am a Capricorn or what....but I found your relationship with these special creatures very close to my heart. I've followed your post from the beginning, and sent silent prayers and light to you and Poppy. Now I see that she's in Greener Pastures with her pal Casper, and find myself smiling through my tears. I am feeling your deep empty place in your "gut". I will grieve with you.  Love DC

36. Dear MagickMuffin, you had a very special relationship
with Caspar and Poppy, and they will be in your heart forever. Now they have been reunited in goat heaven and you will see them again one day. My deepest condolences to you as you cope with the feelings of loss. You gave them such a good life and I know they are grateful for their happy sojourn on this earth and the sweet release from their earthly bodies. I can imagine them frolicking like young kids again somewhere beyond the veil. Blessings and peace to you and your family.
