Overall, how accurate have you found psychic readings?
Of course I ask because I just had a discouraging one! ;-)

At any rate, I've had a few readings in my life and I feel they are right half the time and wrong half the time.

How about you?

1. Not very. Psychics are often subject to any old projection that comes by.
That's why I like astrology, although we still have to watch constantly that we aren't putting our own goo on those we serve.

No reading is worth a damn if all it does is discourage you. That is so last age! We are in a new era, where we create our experience with our emotions...so what good is it to make someone think there is no hope? To make someone feel as if their experience is anything less than valuable? We spiritual advisers have no other directive than this, to give meaning and to weave a healing sense of whatever any of us are dealing with.

So shake off that bad news! It has nothing at all to do with you. If you are doing anything wrong, you can learn from it, and correct it. That is only encouraging information.

2. Thank you.
I do hate being "branded" by a reading. I hate being advised what I need to fix, with no instruction on how to do so. It just makes me feel destined to fail.

12. There are times when what's best for a person is to accept the reality they're in.
For instance there are people I've read for who are OBSESSED with another person. They'll seek reading after reading looking for the answer they want to hear.

This is a case where I think the person would to well to process the discouragement and move on.

Also, a good astrologer needs as much intuition as any other type of reader. A transiting planet has numerous interpretations and it takes both good astrological knowledge as well as intuition to sort it out.

3. Uh, pretty accurate. Consequently, it was never difficult for me to believe in psychic ability.
My problem has been working with readers who are legitimately psychic, but are also completely rude (or worse). I'm still getting over the emotional scars left by a reading I had a couple of years ago, conveyed by a person who did not care about my feelings ("The best (job) you're going to get is something you can stand to do for eight hours a day."). There are a LOT of abusers out there masquerading as spiritual advisors, teachers and gurus. They may be psychic, but that doesn't mean they're sane.

4. Depends
Depends on how open I'm feeling, how good the psychic is, if the psychic is having a good day, and if the psychic and I are in sync. I used to trust my former elder implicitly, and her readings were spot on for years. But when we had a parting of ways and she was tense about my being there (as was I), the reading sucked out loud (was very inaccurate). It's not that she was no longer a good psychic--she was just no longer the psychic for me.

My former elder said that some people who sat across the table from her were like Fort Knox, and she couldn't bust in. A couple of times, she said, she actually gave up and gave them their money back.

Oh--and she also said that psychic fairs were tough because of the sheer number of people lined up for "quickie" readings one after the other. Fatigue plays a part, as does a hurried energy to the proceedings. All of these things can influence a reading's accuracy.

You'll know if you don't feel in sync with the reader, and if you don't, follow your instincts and take what s/he says with a grain of salt (or two or a couple of million).

5. I attend a spirtual class
monthly with a very gifted person and she has stated that since we're in the new realm - kinda bouncing back between our 3rd Dimension reality and 5th Dimension - and also given the choice that humanity has made to move forward - that psychics generally are not accurate anymore - because now, for the 1st time, we are actually creating our future. It is not set for us.

I loved the last few readings I've had, which contained alot of my hopes & dreams, but they haven't happened. Yet.

6. I have had a couple of experiences where
the psychic could not possibly have known anything about me and gave me an unusual warning which turned out to be very specific and very accurate. It was crazy.

One of my family members went to one of those storefront psychics at Venice Beach. He was scheduled to have a serious operation. The doctors were expecting him to show up for it on a specific date. She told him repeatedly that it would not happen. He wouldn't believe her. But the operation didn't happen.

7. I've had a reading like that too. And then I've had a reading
(from the same person, actually) that proved 75% inaccurate later.

So...I don't know!

I think readings are not good for me. I thrive on hope. My hope makes things happen in my life--it's my big motivator.

So often, psychic readings leave me with no hope. And how can I then be expected to manifest my own reality?

has some good advice on how to handle the ups and downs of working with psychics. I pretty much go with that too. I've had the experience of a psychic also being a friend and that was good but not necessary. You have to use what you can, discard what you don't need, keep an open mind always. Try not to take it too literally. It's like anything else--some days it flows and there's a deep connection, some days it doesn't. Some days I've had to go with "25% accuracy"--but I've never had an experience where there was no usefulness to be found. However if you're feeling too fragile or frazzled, don't do it that day.

I wouldn't do anything that left you with "no hope." Humans need hope, especially in hard times. But be aware it's really not the psychic's job to provide you with hope either. Maybe you could find another way to process what a psychic says, somebody else to hit it off of, to deal with that feeling of being left on a precipice somewhere. I know how that feels--have had it happen to me. Also about hope--make sure your wishes really are within the realm of your capabilities and accept that sometimes you cannot MAKE big things happen. Sometimes being more receptive and observing, less concerned with action works in manifesting better things. Work with what is given, in other words.

You ask good questions, so I know you'll find answers.:)

But know that he's a master of understatement and will not specifically mention anything that you must uncover yourself, for your own growth. He'll touch upon directions that will lead you there, however.

11. It really depends on the psychic
I've had readings anywhere from obvious guesswork to one amazing woman who named names and gave details there was no way she could have known.

I do readings for people too. Truthfully some readings are better than others. Sometimes it's how I'm feeling - when I'm really off, I know it and simply don't do readings at those times.

I ALWAYS tell people that the future is NOT set in stone. The best readings are ones that help people make decisions or take actions that lead to their desired outcome and/or what's best for them.

On the other hand, one of the most frustrating types of reading I do are about relationships. When a person is 'in love' with someone they only want to hear predictions that affirm their desired outcome. This is a case where the future involves the actions and freewill of another person, and sometimes the inevitable has to be accepted.

13. ps - I always 'pray' before going for a reading
I look at a reading as something I'm also participating in.

I always make a prayer that I will get information that is clear and useful to me, no matter what the skill level of the reader.

14. Mixed
I've never had a psychic 100% accurate.
Even the best are mixed. Some are totally wrong.
