4. I'm going to wonder out loud: why is it that the evolved multidimensional channeled light being

chose to deliver his revelations in a way that makes him look and sound like a televangelist?

I'm not mocking anyone. I'm OK with the message he delivered but skeptical of the delivery, and I do want to know why his particular version of the message sells so well.

The speaker mentioned needing to limit lengthy channelings but then went on to say a bunch of nothing for an HOUR. "See autistic children as evidence of evolutionary nonlinear thought." That's just not hard to communicate. A ten-minute spot on 60-minutes communicated that better.

And I saw from the website's accompanying photo, that the speaker's sitting in front of bottles of "product" - what do you suppose it is? How much do you think he wishes to sell before his audience leaves? At what profit?

It was very difficult for me to sit through the audio because I could recognize hypnotic techniques being employed.

I'm sorry this message didn't resonate with you.

Having been a self described "New Age" dropout for a couple decades, having lived in So Cal in the 80's when the channeling phenomenon took off, having been a professional intuitive consultant for many years more, I have a fairly active BS and charlatan detector, and always was somewhat allergic to those who entered the spiritual community for commercial or self promotional purposes exclusively. There are plenty of them.

The whole idea of lack of responsibility and accountability inherent in channeling always grated against my extremely earthy orientation.

I've followed Kryon for well over a decade.

I saw this particular channel only once, many years ago. I've known others who channel him.

I met some of the most lovely international souls I've ever met through his chat-room which was always for free. It's no longer active though we've relocated. Lee paid for it out of pocket for a decade, charging no fee.

Unlike so many, aside from selling his books, I've no personal knowledge of any "product"

If memory serves, Lee was from the Midwest, and a former advertising exec, took and extreme cut in pay, and wasn't spiritually inclined before he had his awakening.

Maybe because I lived in the Midwest for a while, I have less of an aversion to people who have that style. I don't feel that he is evangelistic at all, but perhaps you can understand his orientation.

However in more recent years, in consideration of the more vitriolic collective discourse on the national political scene, in order to counterbalance all of that, I've taken to scanning various channellings every morning on this site: http://snoedel.punt.nl/ which good sis rumpel turned me on to years ago.

Probably only about 5% of them really speak to me.

Kryon always resonates with me.

Yet there's no accounting for taste.

8. Don't get me wrong

I knew I stepped in it yesterday - the thing is, it took me two days of determination to get through the entire channelling and by the end I was experiencing frustration and impatience. Things have been vitriolic on the political scene, I've been resisting the trend, but yesterday I was insensitive. I'm sorry.

I knew I stepped in it yesterday because you just shouldn't mess with people's prophets, they take it personally, and I should have been more respectful of you, and again I apologize.

I'm making no judgments about your um, judgment or anyone else's who reads or listens to these messages. This is because I'm right there with you: I too cruise for messages of hope and reassurance from wherever they may come. It feels good, it's fun to entertain possibilities, and it's true, you really do find what you look for (unless it's not there yet, in which case your job may be to create it, but I digress).

I've been *reading* the kryon channelings for years, lurking here, well skimming them. I heard the audio for the first time this week. It sounds to me like an evangelical sermon.

Now while I just said that I entertain possibilities, part of that process is to subject people's notions and claims to scrutiny. I am highly suspicious of this kind of delivery. Your points about your channeler being a) from the midwest and b) and ex-advertising exec/salesman were not lost on me. Yes there is the matter of writing for your audience to deal with. But wait -- even holding that concept leaves me to wonder whether he's honestly and actually channeling an evolved multidimensional extraterrestrial being, or whether he's just delivering a message of hope and comfort to his audience that he wrote himself.

People have channeled messages to me before and the delivery wasn't anything like what I heard on the Kryon audio.

I much prefer reading the messages to listening to them. For me at least, the energy is very different.

an excellent website that explained the old time religion hypnosis very well. I have been unable to locate it. I know lynnertic will come back to answer more fully.

1) HYPNOSIS - Inducing a high state of suggestibility, often thinly disguised as relaxation or meditation.

a. Repetitive Music (most likely with a beat close to the human heart 45 to 72 beats per minute). Most likely used during "study sessions" as the teacher will say the music helps you relax and concentrate better!

b. Voice Roll -- A "voice roll" is a patterned, paced style used by hypnotists when inducing a trance. It is also used by many lawyers, several of whom are highly trained hypnotists, when they desire to entrench a point firmly in the minds of the jurors. A voice roll can sound as if the speaker were talking to the beat of a metronome or it may sound as though he were emphasizing every word in a monotonous, patterned style. The words will usually be delivered at the rate of 45 to 60 beats per minute, maximizing the hypnotic effect.

c. Room "Feel" - The way a room feels is essential to hypnotizing unknowing subjects. It needs special lighting, florescent lights are best because they aren't too dim, but aren't too harsh. Also, Room Temp helps a bit, usually a little cooler than normal room temperature. You need to have the unknowing subjects very relaxed, perhaps even close to falling asleep.
