This was the latest news I could find on the status of a baby elephant born in Portland yesterday...whose mother freaked out and trampled him right after birth.

As far as I could tell, he's still alive, but the zoo keepers looked very upset on the news last night.

The mother is named Rose-Tu and I couldn't find a name for her (male) calf.

I heard on my local NY news this AM that the little fellow is ok and is being reintroduced to his mama. I hope that this was accurate info.

I have already sent some healing energy to the little guy and his mom. I do think all will be well.

Apparently, Rose-Tu is still not safe to be around her calf, who is not handling the separation well.
