any suggestions for how to improve the atmosphere at my workplace?
I'm back after two weeks off, and it just feels oppressive here. It's a big, closed, block of a grey building with grey cubicles and flourescent lighting. It seems someone is always dying of cancer. Our secretary just had a stroke.

I think it must be a completely toxic place, both probably from the construction and the attitudes within. When I'm hip deep in it, it's not so noticeable, but after coming in clean after two weeks I just feel as if I'm wading upstream in a sewer. Yuck.

I will walk around the halls burning sage or whatever if that's what it takes. I don't care if people think I'm nuts. If it works, they can thank me later. Any advice?

1. Yikes
I love sage, but it can create some smoke, and some people might be sensitive. I think I would try some other techniques. I love using sacred geometry patterns. If you want something "physical", then some salt lamps could help. I actually use orgone devices to keep spaces cleared. You can usually find some on Ebay or you can make your own with steel wool and regular cotton. You could walk around saying a well intentioned "prayer" demanding, yes, demanding that any negative entities that have become attached to the place leave and go to the appropriate plane.

I would also make sure that you are grounded and that your aura is strong. I feel sure that the way people get cancer and other serious diseases is that bits of entities enter weak auras and then attack the body through the nervous system. If you can enlist the help of some coworkers as you go from room to room, doing a cleanse, that would be a good idea. If not, do it yourself. Just make sure you protect yourself, using an amulet, or some such thing.

2. Oh my!
Way too much oppressive grey there! I know you can't do anything about that, though.

One thing I have done when in oppressive atmospheres is to start with myself, so surround myself with strong, white light to block out that oppression. Then I start working on projecting the light out from me, as I go about the building in the course of the day. You could take that idea and do it deliberately in a kind of walk-about.

3. Fresh cut, vibrant colored flowers. Wonderful scents/aroma therapy.

Music? Incandescent lamp lights. Soft fabric. Table fountains. Whatever stimulates the senses to counteract the bleakness. And be sure to give some flowers to others as well!

Think of the grey as a blank canvas prepared for you, upon which you will create a beautiful multi--dimensional experience.

And perhaps try to find some natural spot outside the building to go to during breaks to replenish yourself, meditate, breathing exercises, stretching...

5. If you are attuned to Reiki use CKR, if not try infinity symbols
When you cleanse with sage and other techniques invite in beings of Light to assist and don't forget to cleanse the land. If you channel healing energy please offer it to the nature spirits in charge of the land the workplace is on to help them clear and heal the energies there as well. With so many serious illnesses they might be a negative leyline passing through there or some sort of deposit of harmful energy. In that case it probably will take repeated clearings and help from beings like Archangel Michael to clear it.

I always check a place for entities, stuck spirits and the like. If I find them I ask Archangel Michael to take the harmful ones to a place where they can do no further harm and be offered healing themselves. If I suspect a stuck spirit is there I ask their guardian angel or equivalent spirit guide to help them go where they need to go and offer Reiki to the guide to relay to the stuck person to help them come out of the turmoil that has them anchored there.

Do you have any crystals? You could do a crystal grid at home. Just sketch the building and property and put a crystal on each side with the intention that they will help clear, heal and protect all within from harmful energies.

6. I think live plants might help
I have noticed in my workplace that the cubes that have plants are the ones I like being in. Just a small plant can do wonders.

It always helps to set an example. If you don't have a plant in your cubicle, perhaps you can bring in one that is a bit "ostentatious" to make a point?

7. I agree that a plant and some thing to off set the flourescent lighting
would help. Also, if it's not too noisy maybe a small indoor table top fountain would help create calm in your cubicle.

8. Gracious, that sounds terrible!
When I worked at a TV station and our inept VP finally was fired, my coworker (an avowed Christian, yet willing to do anything to remove the icky residue) stood guard while I sprinkled sea salt and powered iron around our perimeter, lit a stick of incense and drew banishing pentagrams and then invoking pentagrams once the area was clear. And we left a candle burning in the center of our suite for a while, IIRC.

So you might want to try some sea salt or sea water to cleanse the general area, leave a gift for the fairies outside the building, meditate to consolidate the icky energy and send it skyward for the Universe to take care of.

Be sure to put up your shield before going to work and brush yourself off after work each day.

And if you have a private area (office, cube, or even just a desktop), decorate it with items that you find soothing. At my last job I had stone mandalas, a piece of granite, a couple of crystals, a small Ganesha, colorful windchimes, etc. (My office was like an instant litmus test--the positive people would come in and say "Cool office!" and the negative people would come no closer than the doorway and either act uncomfortable or mutter, "You've got some weird stuff in here...")

My long hair does the same thing.Riech wingers invariable say something negative about it.

I remember someone posted a saying about long hair being their cosmic antennae.I wish I could remember how it went.

9. plants, sunlight, and fresh air.
some places don't allow much in the way of any of these, which might be a good excuse to relocate. but otherwise people (including management) are usually are quite amenable to plants, sunlight, and fresh air.

11. Orgone Energy!
I was just about to suggest Orgone Energy and was gratified to see that itsjustme mentioned it in the very first reply to your post. This stuff is quite peaceful and nurturing, good for humans, animals and plants. I've been using it since 2003.

You can make Orgone Energy generators yourself, but it can be a messy and noxious affair, given the resins and hardeners involved. I highly recommend the products that Andy makes at ctbusters.com; I have purchased and used some of them and have been well satisfied with his workmanship and customer service.

What I would use in your situation are things called Tower Busters, which you can see and read about here. As to how many it would take to cleanse your workplace, that's going to involve a little practice and discernment. I would start with two in my office, situating myself between them. Results should be noticeable right away as the negative energy around you is transmuted to positive. You may well discover that one will do the job.

After "securing" my own workspace, I would expand outward with the addition of more devices as time and finances permit. I would hide them, as they are pretty unusual-looking and tend to attract attention.

Please PM me if you have questions and the best of luck in your housecleaning!

dbt

12. orgone can protect from emfs, too
EMFs probably build up in a lot of offices, due to crowded conditions, and everybody having a computer screen. It could be a reason why the office feels oppressive, also. I personally would not work on a computer for long periods of time without some sort of orgone protection.

If there is a cell phone tower near the office, orgone devices would be especially important.

But plants, which a lot of people suggested, are also a really good idea.
