To those in this group who are here mostly for astrology..
I just want to extend my thanks for allowing me a space to post about other things; spiritual and personal. I know that some who originally wanted this group desired a place to be mainly about astrology, and that it did not end up that way. I don't contribute to that side of the conversation much at all, but I just wanted to know that I do pay a lot of attention to what ALL of you have to say ( and RICK!!--got your name right this time; lol!) and I appreciate and respect deeply the work that you do in this area. I learn something new almost every day here, and I am extremely grateful.

Just felt I should say that.

Love to ya!!

1. This is a wonderful thread, lildreamer.
I also wish that I knew more about astrology. Those who do have my utmost respect as well.

3. The predecessor to this group
was "The Meeting Room:" a place for all kinds of eclectic discussions, which included astrology, all kinds of energy and spiritual work, and just a slower pace for generally deeper conversations.

I stopped in to participate in one of DesertRose's "sacred space" threads, and found it a great place to be. I wish I could find one in the archives at the "old" DU for you, but all I can pull up is the front page of the lobby. It makes me kind of sad; I'd enjoy going back to browse through all those threads.

As the board grew, the meeting room was visited by a few skeptics who took delight in deriding all kinds of conversations. The regular derision of the group as "woo woos" also led to understandable frustration on the part of some of the astrologically minded, who wanted to separate themselves from the other conversations.

When a forum upgrade allowed the topic groups to form, we wrote the "welcome" message to ensure that we could continue in peace, and the skeptics opened their own group, where they could disagree with people in whatever manner they chose without disrupting the conversation. There was some tension, with astrologers debating whether to stay, or open a separate "astrology" group that would not include the rest of us. I, for one, was glad that they stayed.

I don't spend as much time here as I once did; my life has undergone some pretty radical changes, and, I'm sorry to say, there's been little time or peace to focus on my own well-being or path. I do still read regularly, but rarely post. I'm glad to see the group still thriving.

Anyway, my point is that the group is inclusive: "for those who wish to positively explore issues having to do with Astrology, metaphysics & spirituality, homeopathy/alternative medicine and healing, Ascension, and other subjects having to do with holistic physical and spiritual growth & traditions."

Your posts are welcome, and I enjoy reading them.

4. Thank you for saying this.
Although some of us don't study Astrology, it doesn't mean that we aren't in awe of you who do and appreciate you. Also, we know you guys are the stars of this forum and thank you for letting the rest of us participate.

8. I enjoy the many different areas we post about
I'm glad it's a forum with many different areas--but of interest to most spiritual types.

And in case anyone hasn't noticed, it's one of most posted-on forums. It's almost always in the "recent posts" column off the home page.

9. Thank Lil
I appreciate your kind words. I share with this site because of the awesome people here, like you. It's a great place. I am on some kind of mission to help people appreciate how powerful and useful astrology is - how it can help you in a myriad of ways. And there are some great astrologers out here! I learn all the time here in many ways, I just wish I had more time to contribute daily. My work schedule continues to make that hard. Watch that astrologer, "I Have A Dream", she's up and coming, I tell ya.

11. You're too funny, Rick!
The more astrology I learn, the more I 1) respect those of you who have already mastered the art/science that is astrology and 2) realize how far I still have to go. Thank you for being such an integral part of the process for me. I know that you do it out of the goodness of your heart/soul, because you certainly don't charge us enough to be making any kind of living from the teaching part of what you do.

I now know enough astrology to be dangerous.

12. You have to hang in there
there is just no substitute. I went thru many years of being at a plateau. You just have to keep reading and reading charts. Still, I feel that I am merely a beginner. Many times a chart stumps me... just let it be and keep reading, that simple. ONE DAY, it starts to fit with confidence! It does.... keep at it.

10. lildreamer,
thanks for this post. Like you, and many here, I am at awe at what life is all about. Seeing it from every different angles with an open mind is just a wonderful thing.
And have we not seen many a times when different roads converged into one? And all roads serve a specific purpose. Astrology is very difficult for me - it obviously takes many years to grasp and sure love to hear from those who have a handle on it. Not to say that I will give up, but at my personal rate of learning astro comprehension will take ions.

I have not known the previous forum, but I am glad what ASAH is what it is - it surely feels like a cosmic home. :)

13. I have discovered the holographic aspect of learning
which to me means that my mind, body, emotions, and spirit learn each a slightly different facet of whatever path/subject I happen to be interested in.

My mind wants to zoom ahead with all of the concepts but emotional and experiential learning have to progress in their own time... I have to pause periodically to 'digest' what is being learned, especially with a cosmic subject like astrology!!
