2. I am not surprised or disappointed anymore with these

one- after- the- other wing nut appointments, election "wins", lucky breaks, lack of any accountability whatsoever etc. etc. etc.

After this last US election, and a general worldwide move to the right in many governments, this does seem like the trend for the new millennia.

COUNTING on since I first heard about it ( :evilgrin: ), is a big turn on for me. (Obviously.)

Because as I put it in another thread, IMO there's no place in the New Aquarian Age for an outdated Piscean institution like the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

4. when i saw him for the first time, it was on CNN and he was on the

balcony being announced as the new pope. my very first thought of him was, "oh my god! it's the dark lord from star wars". the resemblance is scary.

It appears to me that what is going on now, given the following current events:

Chavez in Venezuela gathering the S. American nations into an alliance to "help the people"...i.e., a turn toward social democracy.

The overthrow of conservative governments in some European nations by many, many war protesters and reasonable people.

The rise of internet activism, and the spreading of information across national boundaries (remember the "We apologize" threads after bush was re-selected in November? We were telling people all over the world that we apologized that bush was re-selected? And people were replying that they understood how bad we felt?)

As I was saying: It appears that what is going on now is a global war between good and evil. There are millions of people in this world who want PEACE, and shared prosperity from working TOGETHER, as people (not as global corporations who are subjugating and exploiting the workers).

There are millions of people who are (under, IMHO the influence of Neptune) drinking the kool-aid, so as not to confront themselves about what is going on....hoping and believing in some miraculous Armageddon scenario, where all suffering is relieved, and either Jesus prevails, or they get so many virgins when they get to heaven.

And there are hundreds of thousands who are died-in-the-wool criminal (mafia) types, who are power hungry and who think they are entitled to have the rest of the human race as slaves, and who want to wage war, and who get off on masses of people screaming in pain and grief, while they run off with all of the goodies.

The problem is, the millions of kool-aid drinkers think that anybody that tries to bring PEACE is the anti-christ, the false messiah, but that the person who is trying to bring on Armageddon is the true good guy. These people don't WANT peace...they want (and are trying to create the reality of) the wars of the "end times", which the neocons know fully well, and try to promote.

The whole thing turns on the power of education of the masses (or the power of the "hundredth monkey" principle), and right now, the bad guys have control of the broadcast and print media. If the masses could be educated, they would (hopefully) see that they've been set up. So the counter-insurgency has had to move UNDERGROUND (DU type stuff) on the internet, trying to reach out, spread information, and turn the tide in America. It seems that other countries (who birthed millions of anti-war protesters and who have elected compassionate, populist governments) are trying to turn the tide among their own.

What's weird to me is that the forces of evil are finding, as the most vulnerable point, is when they apply to peoples' GREED....the tool of the neocon/nazi/totalitarian movement.

Somehow, we need to COUNTER that with the meme that PEACE comes through SIMPLICITY and sharing, and working TOGETHER....a POPULIST THEOLOGY, if you will, and empowerment of the source of human ingenuity. It's hard for people to be innovators when they're HUNGRY, and don't have jobs, and their families are struggling. (Nice work, neocons! :puke: )
