I think something is shaking loose in our world
Had a series of very odd dreams last night, all with the same overall theme: things are shaking loose.

My dreams were of racial issues (I believe one of Obama's life tasks was to help us turn over the rock and actually look at all the creepy crawly things in American culture, namely racism, and that rock has certainly been flipped now); tropical storms (batten down the hatches and brace ourselves for a bumpy ride but it'll be over soon)--and it should be noted that people were not afraid but were in a good mood--they were helping each other tape up windows and nail up plywood; and my personal favorite, one where I was wandering through a lovely historical house (Regency era England--maybe because I had recently watched the BBC version of Jane Austen's Emma), looking at all the rooms, but there was one closet I didn't want to look in. I turned around and went the other way, but no matter which way I went, I ended up at that damned closet door. It turned out that the rooms were attached in a circle, around a kind of tiny rotunda, so I was always walking in a circle and always came back to the room with the closet. I didn't open the closet door in the dream, but I was laughing about being redirected to it constantly. Maybe I'll open up the door in a dream tonight, or another night in the near future.

Again, none of these dreams was negative in any way--they were all quite happy even though they dealt with ugly or frightening or dangerous events. Even the racially tinged dream turned out extremely positive. It was all very interesting.

1. Were you perhaps viewing events in life
as things not to be feared, but rather as a game to be played and enjoyed? That appears to be a lesson I'm learning at the moment, and it could relate to your dreams. To add, in my dream last night things were shaking up as well, in that children went up the slope of a high hill, the kind used for cross country skiing (Mohawk Mountain State Park in CT is one example)--but instead of a ski lift, there were a series of swingsets--the children got in the top swing and pumped themselves high and then jumped off--and down to the next set of swings part way down the slope--they were flying from swing set to swing set, with high spirits and great jubilation. And I was with friends and family, talking of computers and current events and re-arranging my office, then going to pick up the children from the mountain, coordinating with others as to which truck we would be taking.

2. Definitely
All the dreams I had that night had very little fear in them--and that fear was just at the beginning of each "scene", then it dissipated as the situations were handled. For instance, in the racially tinged dream, I was worried that my friends and I (white) were going into a nightclub that was known as predominantly "black". But nobody cared--they were fine with my friend and me, as long as we were relaxed and friendly, not defensive or afraid of "all the black people". Things like that.

And I view the racial dream and the tropical storm dream as reflective of society as a whole, while I think the closet that was demanding to be looked in was personal for me (houses and rooms--all the usual personal imagery).

I like your dream, too, Ayesha. I've noticed a lot of swinging and jumping in dreams lately (like me and my friends jumping from bed to bed in my Obama dream, for a recent example); I consider those to be metaphors for flying as well as actual dreams of flying. And it's nice the kids were "ascending" under their own power--I like that a lot! Seems like you and your friends were elder guides, letting the children ascend by themselves and then going to meet them and pick them up. :hi:
