First off, I am going to speak of what I am giving up to receive what I just manifested. My daughter's school PTA is having a swap meet to raise funds (to help allay some of the budget shortfall for the next school year - our school district is going to lose $18 million due to the state budget crisis). This swap meet was not a planned fundraiser for this year, but we need to do it. I am donating an old kitchen table and chairs to the swap meet because I am replacing it with a pub height table and bar stools (the pub height table gives me a work surface in my kitchen that is high enough for me - the counters - at standard counter height - are about 4 to 5 inches too low - I am over 6 feet tall). I am also donating a couch I got from Craigslist when I needed a couch for my living room.
I had already manifested the bar stools (for free), but today I went to IKEA to pick up a bed sheet that the Brownies are going to use to make a banner (twin sheets are $2.99 at IKEA!). Since I was there, I thought I would check the "scratch and dent" area. In the scratch and dents was a pub height table for $55.00! WOOHOO! The table normally sells for $130.00, so I had to snatch it up.
As I am sure a lot of you are aware, I am always looking on Craigslist. Yesterday there was an ad for an IKEA Ektorp couch, so I answered it. The Ektorp has a variety of covers available for it, so even if I do not like the pattern, I can always go to IKEA and get a different cover for it. Sure enough, the couch is available. I am picking it up tonight, so I can donate the previously mentioned couch to the swap meet.
The bonus is that even if the items I donate to the swap meet do not sell, arrangements have been made for a local charity to come pick up the leftovers after the sale is over, so someone out there will get benefit from my items.
:woohoo:
