If memory serves, I remember in the run up to the '04 election, you were simply innocently inquiring about an obtuse poster named "Dem Strategist." I gave you the skinny on him and then other people chimed in and it was really funny. It happened in the wee hours of the morning EDT.

But I'll always love and treasure you for that moment alone.

Intimidating. I prepped for 2 days - they had me in a room for 2 hours, people cycled in and out to meet with me. It was odd.

I think I did ok for the most part, but upon reflection, I'm not sure I *want*
the job. Then again, I hate the job I have now, so why not just hate a much higher paying job with excellent benefits, right? :shrug:

I dunno, I'm ambivalent. I figure if they offer it to me, then Spirit wants me to stay here and build a house and ... do what <?>, I dunno - but apparently she still
has a mission for me here.

And if they don't offer it, then I get serious about moving to Madison, take my job and apartment hunting road trip next month, start packing, and when my lease is up
in May ... hit the road. I'm ok with that. :)

I know how the ambivalence feels. It will be interesing to see how things go.

I am doing much better than a month ago. Still meeting new people and refining the ones I've known for a bit. Examining priorities and feeling positive, ranging from pure Joy to 'jus okay'. :D

Very busy right now with meetups and new job. I don't know if it will continue after Valentines. There is another opportunity I'm interested in also. I kind of look at the way you do.

Open to Spirit. What an exciting and peaceful way to live. I'm not even thinking the usual, "what damm thing is going to happen next". There is a temptation to expect the 'worst'. I won't go there. Today.

I always wondered where people like me hung out to talk on the internet, and it's here. And every few days a new one appears, like saracat. It's great fun! It's funny that I looked around for forums about all my interests: spirituality, cartoons, ancient Egypt, and such, but I never thought that being a Democrat would tie all of them together in one place. That's a perpetual source of astonishment to me.

24. I feel the same way, RG. I've gotten to the point that I believe that I was brought to DU...

so that I would ultimately find this group. It took 6 months at DU before I found it. I can see the Universe tapping Its collective foot saying "When is this woman going to get with the program?" :)

26. I think that this group was started in November, 2004. I joined DU in May, 2005.

27. Before this forum was created, people would try to post these kinds of topics

in the Lounge. It didn't take long for jeering and attacks to show up in the thread, and I can think of one person in particular who always showed up. Why that person couldn't stay out of the threads that bothered him, or just hide them, I don't know. Anyway, when they came up with the concept of organizing DU into forums, it solved all of those problems. I also like it because it made these topics so much easier to find. I visited the Lounge regularly to look for these kinds of ideas, but the Lounge moves so fast I know I missed a lot.

31. That is interesting, I wondered how this forum compared to some of the other

special interest forums. I know that the monthly prayer thread
has over a thousand hits for example. And many of the other threads
get really high count as well.

Funny though, I always think of this as a sleepy quiet corner of DU.

then click on "Go to Old Lobby" next to black lettered "All Discussion Forums and DU Groups"...and from there you can click into sub-forums and see how all of the groups are doing in number of posts.

At this moment our group - to the dismay of some - has 37,849 posts - that's right near the top of DU Groups!
