Manifestation group check-in...!
Week #1 or Month #1...we'll see how it goes.;) If we have a lot of posts to this thread within a week, perhaps we'll have to make it a weekly--but we'll play it by ear for now.

Also, I don't really want to push this in any one direction or the other--since this is OUR group. So...
Any questions, sharing of success stories, techniques you've found effective, stories of synchronicity? Whatever!

:hi:

Best,
bliss :)

1. Hi bliss! Thanks for starting this.
I think I already shared this in another thread, but what the heck. I had been wanting to hear from someone very special to me, and so I acted it out, so to speak, a la The Secret. I imagined it happening, and then "heard" the phone ring. I picked it up and "answered" it. I imagined a conversation with this person.

Within three hours, I got the call! :bounce:

There are three main things I am wanting to manifest:

1. To be debt-free.
2. To get out of my marriage, and have it be a positive thing for MrSG, as I know it will be for me.
3. Keepin' that one to myself for now.

I love "The Secret" (I have the book), as it contains many of the things I've used before, but it's all together in one place.

Happy manifesting to ME, and happy manifesting to ALL OF YOU! :grouphug:

2. I went to my first ever
Abraham Hicks meetup tonight. There were about 30 people there. It was most interesting to hear about each introduction. imo, the meeting bogged down because the facilitator thought to read print outs from a yahoo group, rather than tap the Real Life People there. A bit of a disappointment.

Good news is there are lots of people out there practicing manifestation.

Someone did mention exactly what you describe. Imagination. Way to go, girl.
This stuff is powerful.

6. Esther Hicks
appears in the original version of "The Secret". Abraham is the entity who she channels. He says he is more than one. http://www.abraham-hicks.com/ > Their site has a nice set of introductory mp3s.

I'm encountering people who have been following his teaching for up to 10 years!
On the advice of someone involved, I purchased "Ask and It is Given", by Esther (and Abraham).

He claims that our primary reason for being here is to experience Joy.
Strange, but in September, before I had gone to any of these meetups or read the book (I had listened to the mp3s), and I went to a past life regression, the only piece I know of that I received was, find more Joy.

5. One of the things that "The Secret" suggests is to start "small"
Like visualizing the perfect parking spot or something like that. When your visualization/manifestation becomes reality, it gives you a feeling of power, which can aid you in visualizing/manifesting bigger things.

The biggest conscious manifestation I've done in my life, thus far, is going to college. I did a "manifestation board", with pictures of the school, books, grades, and me in graduation garb. It came true. When I started college (private school), I had just been hired at the school. I found out at orientation that employees could only take one class a quarter, but the person who told me that decided to overlook it when she found out I planned to be a full-time student. Working at the school and taking classes there was great. And the BEST thing was, for my Junior and Senior years, I received a scholarship for full tuition and all my books and supplies!!!! Only 1% of the students were eligible, and I was not even aware of it. The student had to be nominated by a professor. I was nominated by FOUR of my profs! It was wonderful. So, I know that visualization works; I sometimes just slack off on being focused about it.

7. Neat!
Two years ago, I manifested a move. I didn't understand then what I was doing, and it seemed impossible. It wasn't.

The Friday before Christmas, I was exhausted, but needed to run some errands during 5:30 rush hour traffic. There was a gob of it. Something I remember from the Bible came to me .. like "I will show you the way.. I will prepare the path for you". It just kept running through my mind. I was able to get all my errands done without delay. Wherever I was, there wasn't traffic. I got the best parking spot too. But it was so simple and amazing, that the path was cleared.

When I went out with my friend Sunday, he was grousing about the traffic and lights. I shared this with him, and our path was clear. Made good time with no snags.

8. I have very few needs this week and no wants so I am going to be
(as usual for me) pretty pedestrian.

I need to rototill my garden patch. I don't have a rototiller or a truck to pick up the free compost I was offered.

so I'm putting it out to get a rototiller for a couple hours and a means to move compost

but if all else fails, i'm WILLING to take a shovel to it and to line my trunk with black plastic

my wise and wonderful Husband laughs at me because my dreams and manifestations are always so prosaic.

as a side note, I am still unemployed, but have a strong "feeling" it's already done and I only need wait until the time is 'ripe' and I am totally OK with that.

9. Even the "little" things are meaningful, AZ
I believe that each time we manifest something, whether it is by conscious visualization, etc, or just via the "thought in the back of one's mind", it can energize us and reinforce our beliefs in ourselves and our personal power.

That's great that you are feeling that your new job is already "done"! :bounce:

10. Okay, so it appears that I can be debt-free soon. (This is longish)
The first bankruptcy attorney I contacted never called or emailed me back, so I contacted another one today. This firm does ONLY bankruptcies. The legal assistant called me within an hour after me emailing the firm.

We talked for a bit, and she said that based on my situation, I was most likely eligible for Chapter 7, which is dissolution of all debt. I'm only netting about $1300 a month right now, which doesn't come near to what I need (and what I used to make) to pay my bills.

I've run into a hitch though. Even though I'm married, I can file on my own, on only my debts. However, Washington is a community property state, which means that any debt incurred after marriage, even if it's only in one spouse's name, is considered joint debt. The legal assistant told me that my creditors COULD go after MrSG to recover my debts. Now, MrSG has his own debts, mostly medical stuff, so he's not exactly swimming in dough. I doubt they could squeeze much blood out of that turnip.

I talked to MrSG, and he said no way, he wants nothing to do with it. Wants me to find another way. Right now, I feel like I'm trying to climb out of this financial hole with absolutely no equipment, and now having found a great piece of equipment to help me out, he is trying to put the kibosh on it. Now, I understand his POV, but I want to go ahead with it. I want him to remain free and clear of any ramifications of my actions. Regardless of what the law says. Regardless of what the creditors COULD do. (And I have to admit that I am also having to deal with a bit of resentment toward him, because I don't like feeling like I'm being treated like the "little woman" who has to ask permission from her husband to do anything......)

I'm going to visualize this. If any of you could maybe add some positive energy to this for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

12. are u 2 still living together as man and wife? cuz if you aren't he could
maybe (?) do a public notice he is no longer liable for your debts and you can do your thing

if you are still married and he treats you like the 'little woman' then let him be the big man and pay all the bills  Many men have issues around $$ that makes them very resistant to admit 'defeat'

what i can tell you is when we finally filed Chap 13 (which means we actually did repay all our debts just in a restructured manner) it was like a million pounds was lifted off our shoulders

if MrSG has a lot of debt too, what is his plan? Can u two go together and get ALL the debts (yours and his) into a restructered debt repayment plan that might work too

what I can tell you is going to a Debt Service plan is as bad as a BK on your credit record and I think the BK actually falls off faster than one of those debt plans do (but I'm not positive about that)

Best luck SG

19. I'm going to go ahead and file for bankruptcy.
My feeling is very, very strong that this is the right thing for me to do. I talked to the attorney again today, and she reiterated that they "could" go after MrSG, but she said it would be calls and stuff. We have caller ID so can screen those calls. Or, I will answer them and tell them they have to contact my attorney.

I am still visualizing a positive outcome for everyone on this. I'm not filing out of spite or anything; it's just that I'm not getting very far in digging myself out from under this pile of debt using just a teaspoon.

11. Hi, bliss_eternal!
I love this subject, and I hope it turns into an endless thread.

Some years back, I read a great book called "Creative Visualization" by Shakti Gawain. It covers essentially the same ground as "The Secret". "The Magic of Believing" by Claude Bristol is also in the same vein. Astrologers know that every thirty years or so, as Saturn returns to a natal (birth) position (a book or idea can have a birth chart, too), ideas get repeated. This seems to be the case with "The Secret".

One thing that helps me with manifestation is working on any negative core beliefs that may prevent the manifestation from occurring. With money matters, it could be something like, "You can never get ahead", or "Money is the root of all evil". Or it could be something big and general, like "Things never work out for me". Once you know the block, you replace it with more positive beliefs, such as, "Things always work out for me", or "I always have plenty of money", using affirmation (written, mental, or spoken). Anyway, it helps me to do that in conjunction with other manifestation techniques. Maybe the Secret covers this, too.

It's so great that you're doing this subject. Everyone needs it.

13. Shakti Gawain RAWKS
she is the one who started me on that path also

we all have 'basic assumptions' that hold us back. they usually stem from some lie we told ourselves as children. since when we are children, our parents can NEVER be wrong since we will die without them. therefore if we pick up on some negative response from our parents to us, we come up with some lie of why we are wrong (so our parents continue to be right, therefore able to protect us)

i really need to do a whole thread on basic assumptions one day

anyway, here's some questions to help you get past being 'stuck'

1. How do I feel? (uncomfortable? frightened? unworthy?)

2. What do I want? (and do you think you 'deserve it'?)

3. How is the past coloring my present? (when have you felt like this before? what negative thing did you tell yourself then that you are believing still?)

4. What am I getting out of being stuck?? (are you doing a self fulfilling prophesy? are you 'punishing yourself? why?)

5. What do I need to say? (affirmations here or say the 'horrible' truth out loud and see how silly it is. or do you need to stand up for yourself instead of 'getting along' with something that you don't believe in?)

6. What agreements have I broken? (things like "if I'm a 'good girl, they will love me' or are you going against your basic nature by living a lie?)

7. How can I be of service? (duh!)

when you look at all these questions you will get an idea of where you are stuck and can work on those misconceptions with a big dose of reality or positive affirmations

I printed this. I for one, need lessons.

Basic Assumptions

Mother said I was a 'problem child'. I'm not saying that's 'wrong'.
But they really needed someone to be the 'problem'. The only thing wrong with that, is, you have to stop being a "problem" sometime!

Damn. I thought I was printing your post and ran out of paper .. problem solving is no fun for me any more.

that "we (I) cannot aford that", whatver it is? Even if it's french fries and a milkshake at the same time. Some of the messages come from our families of origin. :eyes:

When you say, "working on any negative", what does that mean, exactly.
I say the same thing, even though I know instead it to mean more a release of working.
Does that make sense? As I attend these meetings, I hear it over and over. And it is an Abrahm, and I'm sure most other, mystic leaders ideas. Is it not?

The young screenwriter friend contends that he has produced at least 6x the results with 1/4 the effort. That's the person I want to talk to.

Oh. But that's what you go onto say. Replace it (the self defeating thought) with another.
Some are saying that conscious rote won't adequately address it. There has be something to touch the 'sobconscienc'. These are just lables (heh). It helpe me to think and feel of them as being from the other diminesions.

However . I have found as you have that awreness is a start. Now when that little pippen head sticks his mouth on my committe, I dsclaim any knowledge of what he is talking about.
I feel like debating, I can point out, all my bills are paid (save medical, but those can be setttled). I have a very sweet roof over my head. And on you go to refute his bad mouth.
I am visual. So if you use audio, of course adjust.

more later . great thread

18. Core Beliefs
I've read so many metaphysical books that I can't remember all of them. But core beliefs get set in childhood, and so they're the deepest. It's how we were taught to view reality.

Sometimes they're so deep that you can't even work them all at one time. You have to work them in layers. You work a layer of your negative core belief, as far as you can, and then you sit with it awhile (awhile can be years, actually). Then, when you can, you work another layer.

For example, you "find" the Shakti Gawain book you might have read years ago. It was always there, but now you're ready to look at it again and work another layer (of your subconscious).

And how many layers can you work? I have a feeling it's endless, that it can go on forever, and I hope it does!

Wow, this is the most fun, talking about this stuff. I love it.

were also my initiation into these areas!
I had just recently given birth to my first child and was drawn into an unfamiliar bookstore, where I walked up the stairs right over to a bookshelf where my hand reached up to pull out her book!

This is exactly how this happened! Now I have found many a book since then in a similar manner, but this was just mind-boggling how it all just "took place".
I remember I felt great anticipation too as I was drawn to this book.

25. Sounds like a kowinkydink.
You set me to thinking how many books are like that. I remember being very drawn to the Seth books, when they were popular, but I refused to read them (can't remember why). Several years later, people kept coming out of the woodwork, saying, "You need to read the Seth books", etc., and finally I did. They were very interesting, too! They also dealt with manifestation, and every Seth book was full of his trademark saying, "You create your own reality". You're probably way too young to have ever heard of the Seth books, DemExpat. I think they're still in print, though.

And being drawn into this book store, up the stairs and right to the book is to me more than a wondderful coincidence. I was guided to it! :-)

last fall as I worked non-stop in my studio. Had just seen The Secret and when I wished, I actually felt the sand between my toes and relaxed, feeling no pressure to work....

Right before xmas I reconnected with a friend who now lives in Maui. We collaborated on her magazine ( my fairy painting made it on the Jan cover!)....

Anyhow the very next day after speakin gwith my Maui frend, I got a phone call from an old hs friend back east who wanted to know how I felt about Hawaii!! (synchronicity hee hee) and I mentioned how I just reconnected with another friend there.....

Long story short....I am being treated to a trip to HI & Maui...airfare & hotel picked up by my friend (!!) who has only this year to use up all the points from her late husband's trips. I am going to be on my tropical island getaway for two weeks and I only have to come up with spending money!!!

I have to say The Secret (book & movie) have really pulled all the years of manifesting & visualizing together for me.

Just wanted to share this happy story with you guys. You are all the best!:loveya:

PS Also manifested a trip for my son who has been working his butt off at a lowpay crap job for ten years...hes staying with my friend who lives in Maui. ...so really two manifestations for the effort of one LOL

22. I remembered something that really helps manifestation.
Human emotions have energy qualities that influence everything we do, especially manifestation. Doubt and worry send things away from us, negating our manifestation efforts. When I'm working to manifest something, I try to give it no further thought, once I've put out the original thought. This lets it flow toward me in a smooth way, with no interference from doubt, worry, or fear. I think of it as a boat moving through the water, and negative emotions are choppy waves that stop the boat from moving forward.

28. When your surgeon says "it was serendipitous"
it's really kind of shocking. He was right, though. He had ordered an emergency colonoscopy because of my continued problems, and two ultra-sounds had shown a blockage that other "measures" had not cleared up. They had a working diagnosis of probable diverticulitis, possible colon cancer. The suspect area turned out to be benign - two polyps on opposite sides that wouldn't have been a problem by themselves, but caused the problem because of their nearness to each other.
Then, he discovered elsewhere the worst kind of polyp possible - the kind that, in his words "quickly becomes the most aggressive cancer possible - a death sentence unless it is somehow "serendipitously" caught early enough". So, I spent the holidays waiting for the biopsy results. He got tired of waiting and went to the lab and conducted the biopsy himself.
Serendipity ruled the day - he had caught it early enough for there to have been...NOT A SINGLE CANCER CELL! "A few more months" and the result would not have been so wonderful, so I believe him that it was serendipitous indeed! Whew!
I am so glad I pushed this issue, despite my doctor's resistance - I had to know!

36. Well, I manifested a call from a friend, but not the one I was thinking of.
Been working on manifesting a call from a friend I haven't been able to get hold of.

Today, my phone rang, and it wasn't that friend, but another friend I hadn't talked to in quite some time. I'll still work on getting a call from the other person, but it was wonderful hearing from Tina! And I have been thinking of her, too, so I guess I just got a "bonus"!!

:woohoo:

42. It was great!
Working on other things too, of course, but as it says in The Secret, success at manifesting small things can give us more confidence to manifest bigger and bigger things.

54. You've really been disciplined about this...
you must be proud of yourself. :D It's so hard for some to "start small." Consequently, by not starting small, we tend to overwhelm ourselves and then have a tough time accomplishing anything. So it's always great to take things in small bites, so to speak. Good for you, Seattle Girl!

...well, and good for your friend, too. ;)

41. Today ..
was one of those days when everything I needed seemed to be available almost immediately.
There were many small things. It was just a groove day. Very cool.

43. I call those "The days that do themselves" -- exactly what you
are describing. Eveything I need is right there, and the day just flows.

Very cool for you, votes!

44. Thanks SG!
I'm sure there must have been others, but I never noticed. It is much more fun to notice.
I would love to manifest more. It actually seemed that I was 'manifesting', but all I did was intend a solution .. or something.

Have you noticed anything that activates "The days that do themselves"?

47. I can't identify anything specific that activates those kinds of days.
I think they happen on the still-too-rare occasions that I am completely in the flow of life.

46. This just keeps getting better...
Several weeks ago when hippiechick and Bluestar were discussing freelance consulting/project management, I got a yearning to return to that type of work. I determined (intended) that I would aim in that direction (eventually).

Now I've been given the opportunity to do a feasibility study and grant proposal project for a non-profit. It's volunteer basis, but also makes me eligible for some of the same services their clients receive (which is as good as payment). Plus! I get on the job training, a learning experience. I'm very excited. I volunteered for this organization in December as a foot soldier. The director and I are becoming good friends and she is a pleasure to work with.

Wow.

50. Yeah, it's neat. Thank you.
The answer to my question showed up.

Becoming the Artist of Your Day; a Reframing Process Nancy Bloom

A lot of us make lists about what we're going to do every day. Most of these lists include work and chore-related things like: take the car to the repair shop, call the people on my committee, finalize the report, etc, etc-generally not the kinds of things that inspire you to leap out of bed in the morning.

I'm proposing that you create a different kind of list-one that can shift the whole experience of your day-regardless of the challenges you face. On this list, you consider: "Given the kind of day that it is and given that I have certain things I need to do, how do I want my day to be?" In essence, creating this list lets you become the artist of your day.
...

Doing the list worked. Instead of moving through the day with dread, I enjoyed myself. I appreciated the beautiful countryside on my drive. I met some wonderful people at the Laundromat, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading my book while waiting in the gas line.

Now, when I'm being the artist of my day, I'll include things on my list like: "All my interactions today are heartwarming and fulfilling and really bless everyone concerned." Or, "The presentation I am doing today goes really well and is transformative for all concerned. My preparation for it flows easily and well." Today, I was aware of having low energy, so I wrote: "Everything I do today is done by grace through me. I don't really have to effort."
... <more>

This site is new to me. Love it when that happens.

55. I Have A Dream .. Last night
I did an online Tarot reading regarding a relationship issue. It was right on about that.
Some of the positions have a second meaning to 'apply to the creative process'.

One position drew "The Child of Science". 'Science' is one of the suits, not sure which. Sounds like it might correspod to Swords. William Blake's deck.

Child of Science: Searching for truth or knowledge. Figuring out a plan or stratagem. Questioning everything. Looking inside yourself for deeper information. Building on a classical or time-tested approach. A time for research and information-gathering. Skillful use of tools and technology. Curiosity.

In the creative process: Doing feasibility studies or reorganizing your approach is favored now. Be curious and question everything.

:wow:

48. Update on my decision to declare bankruptcy
As I posted above, my husband was really being resistant to the idea of me declaring bankruptcy. I let the issue fo for awhile, and then decided to talk to him again. He's now pretty fine with it; still has a few concerns but told me to go ahead.

I'm feeling fine with it, as far as my view of myself, etc., and my feeling is also that he will not be touched by it.

52. I'm so glad...
that he's not being resistant anymore. It can be difficult to follow through with things, when we feel that the people that would be affected aren't 100% ok with what we are doing.

It must be a huge load off for you that he is more open now. :)
