9. Good pumpkin pies to you, Bliss!
How nice to check in between dishwasher loads & pie baking to see this! Kiddoes are tucked in their beds smelling up sweet dreams, while mom stirs & samples through the night - LOL.

Hoping all of you have a wonderful & peaceful holiday!

12. Thanks Bliss!
I am thankful for a roof over my head, food on my table,
good health, great family and good friends.

And of course this forum :)

I thank God that the American people have
finally awakend from their long sleep and
done the right thing. We now have a good chance
to end the nightmare that we have lived with for so
long.

Have a good day everyone!

13. What a lovely post--thanks cassiepriam...
...and I am also thankful for this forum and the wonderful people that make it so special!

On a personal note--cassie I'm thankful for you and the way you helped to "free" me, earlier this year during my editing tasks for my doctoral seeking friend. ;) Your words and support helped immensely! Funny, haven't heard from him since. LOL!

14. I was glad to help with that situation.
So he never bothered you again?
Wonder what happened to him.
Like the flying dutchman perhaps he is still
wandering the halls of academia, trying to
get his act together and finish that dissertation.
I felt for the guy, but it was certainly not your
problem to deal with.

I thought once things 'calmed down' I might--letting me know how it all went. Kinda' was under the impression we were friends. Oh well... I guess you really find out who your true friends are through such situations.

I was just so grateful I knew someone like you, who had been through it and knew the situation so well. You really helped me to spare
my sanity. ;) Lol!

16. Perhaps he never finished it, and doesn't want to face
any one with the failure? Who knows...

I am just glad you exited from his dissertation drama!

17. LOL! I hadn't considered that, cassie...
but it's totally possible. Could have even blamed me, for not "giving him the answers" and/or "helping." Either way, it was great to disengage. I intensely dislike feeling codependent.

Maybe there should be a support group for the families and friends of doctoral students. LOL! Sounds like they take quite a toll out on those around them. :scared:

18. The divorce rate tends to be high for doctoral students
for that reason. Support groups are a good idea.
Most universities have a counseling center and
may offer that type of support.

It was before I was married so didn't impact my marriage.

20. Adding my Good Wishes
To all on this forum for a happy holiday, too. It's been a busy couple of days for most here, I would bet, what with the cleaning and cooking. But now it's over and coming up will be a leisurely few days, what with all the delicious leftovers.

Personally, I just love that turkey sandwich on 9-grain bread with mayo and cranberry sauce on the side.

It's so nice to have this little bit of time before the craziness of December. I'm so thankful for this time to relax with my family.

Thank you to everyone else who visits this group. You all feel like family to me!
