Honoring Life Changes - The Wisdom of Fear
Honoring Life Changes
The Wisdom Of Fear
October 9, 2006

Anything worth doing will always have some fear attached to it. For example, having a baby, getting married, changing careers-all of these life changes can bring up deep fears. It helps to remember that this type of fear is good. It is your way of questioning whether you really want the new life these changes will bring. It is also a potent reminder that releasing and grieving the past is a necessary part of moving into the new.

1. Good little article - thanks.
I didn't start to make progress with my overwhelming problems in my young adult years until I started to embrace my fears, anger and sadness!

Until I stopped trying to medicate, drug, drink, smoke, eat, talk and even meditate them away I was spinning my wheels.

When I accepted them, even welcomed them into my consciousness for private conversation and boundary setting, I started to free myself from their oppressive powers.

They really *are* there to teach us.

2. Interesting, thanks for sharing.
It's a nice perspective to honor the fear, instead of fearing the fear itself. Whenever I have FEAR come up, I try to remember to say a little mantra: "I send Light to my Fears..."

Have you ever heard that FEAR can be seen as an acronym for:
False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

Yes, FEAR can provide us further insight, however it's up to us to determine whether we will let our fears hold us back.

Let's just say, some days are easier than others to do that. :D

:hi: thanks again for sharing this!
