Anyone ever visit A.R.E. Center in Virginia Beach?
A big hello and thank you to everyone here. Have always checked in on this board, love all the threads---finally got my star and I can now post!!! :bounce:

So...interested in knowing if anybody here has visited the Edgar Cayce Center in Virginia Beach. Have been thinking it would be a fun place to explore. Any opinions? TIA!

years and I still have my blue book (IRF). I'm a big fan of Edgar Cayce. In fact, the book by Thomas Sugrue (sp?)about EC's life, "There Is A River," set me off on my spiritual quest.

Welcome aboard, Mother Earth. We have a very nice group of talented and creative people here and are happy to have you join us.

2. I went to ARE with my family when I was a teenager.
My oldest sister, then 16, had been in a terrible car accident on the night of her junior prom. The car she was a passenger in rolled over several times and she had pretty severe head trauma.

My parents took her to many doctors but, it wasn't until she went to ARE for the summer, almost 2 years after the accident, that she got well. I will never forget the day she came home. When she walked threw the door I remember thinking, "OMG, she's finally back, back to her old self."

I just love Cayce and all that he did for others. I've also visited the ARE near Phoenix,AZ. I don't know if it's still there.

very nice atmosphere. Going through a major healing crisis, and needed a break from home/family/old routine. I got craniosacral and reiki done on separate days. Reiki practitioner in particular was wonderful! VA beach is really cool in the wintertime too. Everything is still open, but nobody is there. It's like you have the place all to yourself. I got great rates on a suite at the Marriott. I hope to go again, possibly even live there and work at the center after I become a Reiki master.

5. I Wish I Could Go
But I am also one who was sent on my own personal journey through the teachings of Edgar Cayce.

P.S. I know how you feel about getting a star. I only have a star because of the wonderful generosity of another DUer because I am disabled and unable to afford it. Still, every time I post here, I tell God "Thank-you with all my heart for bringing in to my life such a thoughtful person!" I am not sure when the star is going away, I suspect it will be soon, but when it does, even though I will not be able to post any longer, I will still be lurking anyway as I especially love it here and this is always the first place I come after I log in. I am just grateful I had the time I had.

Love Cat

6. Just tell us if you're ever without a star
Better yet, post to this thread if your star happens to disappear:

Like I Have a Dream said, the Universe will conspire to give you what you need if you make your wish known. Like her, I do believe that this forum is a real source of good and that whoever wants to post here will be given the opportunity to.

Best wishes and God bless, mntleo!

9. Hi, oxbow. If someone loses their star, they won't be able...
to post to the thread since it would require a star to post here. However, if they PM me, it will be arranged so that the person's star is renewed.

Thanks for letting her know!

(I just wanted to state this here so that anyone reading it later will know what to do when they don't have a star.)

11. Thank you all for your responses and welcoming!
I'm thinking we will go in April. Like a lot of you, I too, felt inspired by Edgar Cayce. Have always read everything I could get my hands on, he was absolutely amazing. I will definitely fill you in on the details when I go. The A.R.E. Center is one of those places I have always wanted to visit and so that's what I'll be doing.

I so enjoy reading all of your threads and have for quite a while. You are all terrific. I think you don't realize how many people you all influence just by posting here. I remember finding this board after the election and found comfort, and then when I found this part of the board was even happier. You have all given words of inspiration yourselves just be virtue of your posts here. You give hope which we all need especially in these times! Just wanted to let you know and encourage you to keep on doing it!

13. I've Been there several times
mainly to use the library.....greatest collection of metaphysical books I've ever seen..............there is also a store in Virginia Beach, called the Heritage Store, that used to (maybe still does) sell tonics prescribed via Cayce's readings...

15. Yes, it is called The Heritage- A Legacy for Life and,
the toll free # is 1-800-862-2923.

You can order online at: www.caycecures.com

They sell a very interesting assortment of stuff! However, I must tell you that several years ago I was using one of their mouthwashes and discovered after talking with the co. that they had in fact diluted the specific formula rec'd in the Cayce readings. Of course this allowed them to make the product far more cheaply. They had simply changed the label, removing the specifics about the % of a specific ingredient contained in the product. When I questioned them about it they admitted that they had reduced it.

I told them that I knew that Edgar Cayce would not have approved!!

19. Yes, 21 years ago
I suppose it would be interesting to people familiar with Cayce. I'm not, and didn't find it too interesting, personally. We just went out of curiosity
They sell lots of Mummy Food and massage oils.
Of course I'm sure the place has changed in 21 years.
