I need a re-name-ing. Please help me.
A few weeks ago I told you I have become the press secretary for Ken Aden, who's running against a very disgusting repig---okay not even a repig, just a nasty pig and it is going to be a hard ball, name calling affair. I ave decided that I must have a journal on DU so that I can have daily access to the blogs in our area. I love my name WhiteTara (thank you my dear I Have A Dream .) It has given me the strength to come to the place I am and it helps to balance me in my political journey. But now, I feel I need a name that will not sound hippy dippy and can detract from the campaign. I don't want to use my real name because I need to keep separate from the campaign and press releases etc. I want to sound strong sure and righteous. I look forward to any and all suggestions. Thank you dear ASAH family :grouphug:

1. A rose by any other name...I don't know, I think this one
needs to come from your heart...fight the good fight. Solidarity! Congratulations.:fistbump:

2. Tell us more about your criteria for selecting a name
I don't think White Tara sounds hippy-dippy at all. It sounds very spiritual, at least to me.

For those of us who don't live in your area, perhaps you can tell us about some of Aden's positions. That might help in creating a name.

BTW, I agree in the power of a name. My first name at DU was OneAngryChick. I had it only for a short time but I became that person. That is why I changed my name; I don't want to be an angry person.
A rose by any name may smell as sweet but a different name might emphasis its thorniness and take away from the beauty of its scent. IMHO.

4. I concur
Nothing "hippy-dippy" about it. It's nice.

7. Ken Aden is a very progressive Democrat
here's his website. www.Aden4Arkansas.com He's pretty much what I want in a candidate. He is young...33 (I call that the Christ year) been back from the Wars for a couple of years. During his time in Iraq, he began working with a non profit in another state and came back to his home town Russellville AR to care for his grandparents. He served under Steve Womack (R/Asshole) and came to dispise?dislike him very much. When he saw what Womack was doing, he decided he'd do something about it. He has some very strong backing already and although we're still poor like church mice, he's working like crazy to win this election.

The core team are all vets and me. We'll of course be adding new people all the time, but that's the beginning and I get to do what I love the most. My mom suggested that I be careful so that the campaign can't be derailed for my own ego. So here I am, trying to be the best I can be without losing who I am.

Thanks.

6. What about just Blue?
I am so bad with this. I actually dislike bluegrass music, the twangy part gets on my nerves.

Oh, BlueMouth

8. That's one of the blog sites I want to post on.
The other is the Arkansas Times. A few smaller ones as well. AR is very red...but not really. Fundamental religion is the order of the day and there are so many white churches, my eyes cross. I can only imagine they are as white inside as the paint on the out.

Neutral and definitive at the same time. Blue View. I'll sleep on that. But any other ideas?

THanks!

18. It seems that you've settled on your new name already...
I hope that you're able to find just the right variant of TrueBlue. :)

It's not really even worth mentioning now, but just in case you decide to take another path, the name Calliope/Kalliope came to mind for me. (I prefer the spelling with 'K' rather than 'C'.) Both Calliope & Kalliope are already taken as names on DU.

http://www.theoi.com/Ouranios/MousaKalliope.html

It's my understanding that the Greek language has different words for different shades of blue: sappheiros, kyanos, etc.

Good luck finding the perfect name for your new role.

:loveya:

23. I really dig your name. at worst, just say it relates to "Gone with the Wind"
and say it's just how you imagined the outer home color scheme for Tara, a nice cool white to keep off the summer heat.

but if you must change it, go with your gut. i think something about the Ozarks has kick to it. something like, BlueMistoftheOzarks. but whatever will be fine.

24. BlueTara
I love the suggestions everyone has made.

The advantage of BlueTara is that it retains part of your present name and continues to honor Tara. You can always explain the Tara part as being a legendary home place, kind of referring to history and home.

25. There is a Blue Tara in Buddhism.
Some of her ascribed powers are removing the fear of enemies, spreading joy and removing personal hindrances on the path to enlightenment, according to the link below. Another name for Blue Tara is Ekajati. She is also associated with the transmutation of anger.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ekajati

If she were to take this name, she could keep the energy and strengths of White Tara and add Blue Tara's strengths and energies as well.

I don't think that anyone would have any reason to think that the name is based upon anything spiritual. I don't think that's the case with the name White Tara.

Anyway, I hope that she's coming close to finding the perfect name for herself.

Good idea, Sanity Claws!

26. So, here's is my criteria for a screen name
It must be gender neutral. We are going up against a KKKarl trainee, Terry Nelson. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/al-norman/walmart-welcomes-back-dir_b_865954.html

I don't want to be the story; just tell it. But as ME told me, it's important to be strong, original and memorable. Her references were Mudcat Saunders, Ragin Cajun (we all know who that is)

So, that's what it's all about. I'll keep myself in my heart and be the protector for the unprotected in the only way I can...with my words. (I guess I'll have to say more than F* YOU )
