May I jump in?
There's been so much chaos and upheaval in my life during the last 12 years. It's been a never-ending roller coaster and I'm worn out. I wonder if it's ever going to end?!

Any suggestions for sites for astrology or tarot readings? There are days I'm hanging on by a thread.

Thanks!

1. The answer is within you.
Don't go looking for direction in readings, because usually we only see the part we like and not the part we need to see. If you are having life issues, you need to seek true counseling. If you are needing direction, try listing all the possibilities until you begin to see a pattern.
If you are suffering from a spiritual emptiness, meditate until you reach your soul.
And NEVER pay someone for spiritual guidance or direction.
Money taints the message.
I know there are people who disagree with me, but I remain convinced that money destroys.

2. Never pay?
I hate exorbitant charges some can get away with.
But what if people are doing it for a living?

True astrology takes a lot of time so to have a lot of clients and a "real" job doesn't work.
Some psychic readings can be pretty draining and lengthy.
So I'm not sure what I think.

As a long time non believer then it's a long story how I ended up at a psychic. She had invited everyone from my office to come for a reading and they could bring a family member.

She said if people wanted to give a "love offering" she would take no more then $5.00 and that to replenish the goodies she offered. (She had tea and home made cookies and other snacks for her visitors)
She said it is wrong to profit from a gift of God.

She wouldn't take anything from me because she knew I didn't want to come at all and what she was saying was for me to hear now and understand later. She did take %5.00 from my mom and we both had cookies to take home.

It did make sense later.

So you might be thinking like she did. But she was a retired lady, house paid for too. And what about gifts like singing, art, athletics...people are paid for those.

I am not arguing with you, just thinking in type. Don't know what I think on idea of charging.

5. If one needs the money to live on
then requiring payment for sharing one's gifts and talents (which takes time and effort) is fine IMO.

Asking (modest) payment does not have to cheapen the experience in my view.

6. With me personally
I also don't believe in taking money. Plus, you could be wrong. If I ever do give advice spiritually to someone such as that I always make sure to remind the person things change and we have freewill. I also used to not believe in psychics and everything but now do. :)

4. Are there spiritual or metaphysical bookstores in your area?
Sometimes they have days of mini-readings, a few bucks for 20 minutes. You could get a feel of people that way.

I know astrology sites but they don't do readings and I don't know your basic understanding of astrology

Any regular counseling that might help?

With Grace in your name here you'll get through. Sometimes the trick isn't hanging on, it is letting go.

If you give all your birth data (date/time/place) I could look and see if I see anything glaring but don't know that I can help much. 12 years would be a long time for a transit unless you have Pluto or Neptune going over a big stellium. Your chart might indicate issues but would it help to hear "Yes, you have issues". You know that.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I have prayed, tried positive thinking, and anything you can imagine. I realize that you're never given more than you can bear, but I wish the powers that be didn't have such a high opinion of me. I'm exhausted and tired of the chaos.

7. A free site . . .
http://worldtarotreaders.com/ .. you can have a free personal tarot reading. Some of the readers do paid readings if you want to continue. The readers there are held to ethical standards.

This is an interesting thread.

It is true you will only see what YOU see in a reading. That is the most important thing, actually. To discover what influences you are really dealing with .. from your perspective. Confusion is hard. It is when we cannot figure out wtf is going on that we do seek outside information. I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Take what you need.

Once while going through a terrifying work experience, my readings kept turning up The Tower.
It didn't matter if I dealt the spread or my roommate, The Tower was there. I KNEW it meant something about my job situation. I wanted to avoid that result. But I did not. It wasn't prophecy, it was instruction. I now see how I could have reacted differently and avoided a painful situation. So, Tower is pretty indicative of the outcome.

As for paying for services ... I'm of a mixed mind, and appreciate the input of others who think about this. I like the donation idea (though I personally wouldn't set the maximum at $5.00). That would have to be the minimum because I usually travel and need to cover transportation expenses.

In anything, Balance is key. I give away some services and take payment for others. It depends on the situation. I feel sure that you can find free input. Another time, you may need to give a monetary gift (it doesn't have to be money).

I do hope you find a solution to your current dilemma. Looking for an answer is the first step.

11. I Believe It Means To Give Up Worrying
To turn your problems over to a higher power, saying here, you take care of this for me. Then let the problems go (very hard) in the assurance that the solutions will be presented to you. Ask for the problems to be solved in a perfect way, without expectations of how they should or will be solved. Does that help?

12. I do a simple form of this ..
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 01:50 AM by votesomemore
when my brain starts spinning. Self talk is very influential. I don't believe in a grand power, unless we call it "energy". I do know I have guardian angels. They make themselves known, upon reflection. Maybe I need to give them more power. When I start to worry about a future event, I tell myself, "you will have whatever you need at that time. There is nothing to be done in this moment". That lets it go. Maybe I don't do that enough. The big stuff.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes. That helps. Now it is up to me to put it into practice.

13. Any Way It Works Is Good
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 11:11 AM by Me.
I do believe in a point of origin from whence all of us including angels originate, and I believe that when we connect with that source of energy that is when we are most effective. And you are right, about energy, that is, ultimately, what it, even us, is all about.
