No more Mars retrograde. Phew.

Mars retrograde in my own sign of Taurus has been extremely...inhibiting. Of course, the main cosmic factor I feel is still stopping up my attempts at forward progress in my life is that I have this nasty Mars opposition Ascendant crap to deal with, which will continue until late December. I hate it. It's palpably frustrating.

However, this post was supposed to be about the good news, so, from AOL's Rick Levine this morning:

"On October 1st, Mars, the energetic red planet of direct confrontation, began its retrograde phase. Today, it resumes its regular direct motion. It's been a long couple of months, especially with Mercury also retrograde until last weekend. The pent-up energy has had nowhere to go, but relief is now on the way and the energy begins to move forward again. The Moon enters Mars' fiery sign Aries at 4:02 am EST, adding even more emphasis to this powerful shift. Remember, however, that Mars takes a few weeks to gather speed, so it still could take a while to see results."

For me, Mars direct plus Moon in Aries equals--well, trying to constructively release a rush of suppressed anger this morning--but other than that, a cleansing spiritual stretch after a stressful confinement. Ah.

6. That's because your missing the opportunity presented.

With Mars opposing your asc., there is a renewed emphasis and awareness on the nature of your relationships with others vs. your need for the independence to be yourself within them. With Mars here, the tendency is to bang your head against the wall of established patterns with relationships and going off half-cocked when your needs are thwarted by the needs of the "others" in your life. Mars here can give you the necessary energy to make the changes needed within existing relationships in order for there to be a freer expression of the self and your need for independence to experience what you need to. If the relationships restrict this need, the power of Mars to aggressively strive for what it wants, when it wants it and that is right now is at your disposal. When Mars was retrograde, the energy was directed inward to check in with any residual anger around this issue. A cooling off period before confrontations begin. A chance to get a perspective on just what needed to be changed or discussed. As Mars begins its trek direct again, there is still a moment to pause and marshall the facts before marching off to do battle(so to speak).

I'm in the process of getting rid of the remaining relationships in my life, because they're negative, useless and abusive. With Mars sitting on my Ascendant, thwarting the energy I need to leave a certain situation or figure out where I need to go once I leave, it's like being paralyzed. Not everything about every transit is positive.
