1. Gosh Kimmers! You must live up north near us...
we had snow here TWICE last week! We're about 17 miles north of Boston, near Salem Mass. I know what you mean about things seeming "calm and quiet". I got a vision about a week ago of a huge mass of people first looking at the situation in Japan, then turning their heads the other way and looking at Wisconsin, then back again to the latest oil leak in the gulf, and on and on and on. The message clearly was that there's SO much going on right now no one is focusing on ANYTHING for any length of time. Maybe that's part of the seemingly quietness, but I too sense a sort of calm before a storm(s).

2. Like it never snows
in snowy climates after the spring equinox? :)

I used to live in Boulder, CO, and our heaviest and deepest snowfalls there always occurred in April or May.

As I child I lived in northern New York State, and in the north side of hills, snow often remained until the beginning of June. In my time there we saw snow fall in each and every month of the year, at least once. Granted, the June, July, and August snows never stuck, but still . . . .

4. Lived in Flagstaff, AZ for a while
and it was so great to be able to take a break from the snowy mountain heights and head to sunny Phoenix or Tucson for HEAT sometimes, ski in the north and go swimming a little south, all in the same (late spring) day.
