Time to share my dream last night
Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 11:37 PM by Proud_Lefty
Sometimes at night, I awaken to something. I open my eyes quickly and see figures hoovering over me. As I wake myself up more, these figures dissolve, sometimes quickly, but other times it takes a while. Sometimes, the figures are huge vines or plants all around me, but most the time, I see human type figures with no faces. In fact, I can't even make out whether they're male or female. I don't know if I'm still dreaming as I open my eyes or what's really happening, but it happens often enough with me.

Last night, it happened again, but with a very distinct difference. I saw the face on this figure and it was George W. Bush's! He was starting to cackle at me as the face started to dissolve. It felt extremely evil and gave me the creeps.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on with this? It really scared me.

1. Sheesh. It's bad enough to have Bush in our waking state,
but to have him in our dreams! You would think we could escape the guy some time.

Anyway, your dreams seem sort of eerie, they have a spooky effect. If it were me, I might get scared from seeing something like that.

I have a suggestion: when we're dreaming, we're much more attuned to our feelings, rather than our senses, like our sight, hearing, etc. See if you can tune in to your emotions the next time you start to wake up. And see if those emotions are trying to tell you something, like they are warning you of something, or if it's just night-time entertainment.

3. Most the time, it doesn't really scare me anymore
It doesn't happens often, but usually when I wake up quickly. I've always figured I'm just still dreaming with my eyes open. As soon as I start waking up, the figures dissolve. Part of me has always wondered, though, if my dream state allows me to communicate with spirits on the other side and this is what I'm seeing. If so, I realize that the spirits won't hurt me, so after whenever it happens, after a brief startle, I relax knowing they won't hurt me. That was, of course, until I saw Bush's face. I felt nothing pure evil quickly run through my veins. I think I need to get away from dwelling on what he's doing to this country and go to Disneyland or something.

2. Here's a crack
Are you facing something in your life that you feel is overwhelmingly difficult or confronting a major lie/liar in your waking state? If so, his appearance would be the "embodiment" of the problem you might be facing. If not, I am not real sure and would have to think it over some more.

12. that sounds possible
He could be some sort of embodiment of generic icky feelings.
otoh, the figures could represent a feeling of being drained by too many people hovering around. Most of them aren't hurtful, but it's also not replenishing your energy. The * image is scarey, and could represent your real sense of things. I mean, it may be saying that you do see him as an evil force and are naturally scared by that. I often feel scared by him, or some of the other guys on his staff. Who wouldn't be.

5. I think that there is a lot of negative energy being released
My mother was a lot more psychic than I am, she used to say that
some events cause negative energy to be released, I would say that
there is probably much of this being released by all of those caught
up in the neocon fiasco, there is fear, hate, anger all powerful
energies being released, I think that you are sensitive to this.

6. Do you think that could affect one's mood?
This afternoon I was hit by this unexplained wave of sadness. Yesterday I felt so great. My mood swings are not usually this extreme.

9. Yes, I do and my mother also thought so
she said that traumatic events have energy waves just like shock waves do, thoughts are energy and I believe that there is a tremendous melt down on many levels right now

7. You seemed to have hit the nail on the head
I have been very consumed with anger and confusion lately. I've had a few confrontations with freepers in the last week that really stressed me out. Talk about negative energy! Normally, I keep a safe distance in all respects, but I'm so tired of pretending what this administration is doing doesn't bother me. I've been very confused whether I should try harder to stay away from these ridiculous confrontations or start confronting them while building a harder protective shell so I'm not affected so adversely. Thank you for your insight.

8. You are welcome, we are going thru troubled times

This is worse than the country was doing Watergate, I really think that we have to just keep slogging through, for the first time I feel like there's an end to this coming.

I heard that the White House has put together a list of
replacements for Karl Rove-heard on The Young Turks - 10/19 at 6:26 pm

10. You poor thing!
I have no theories on this--just wanted to offer you this.

I would be devatated to have to wake up to THAT!

Maybe you should sage your bedroom, or do something else to clear the energy?

Sorry that I don't have more to offer. :(

13. This is not unusual
It's called a hypnopompic hallucination, a vivid dream-like hallucination when you wake up. If you have similar experiences when falling asleep it's called a hypnagogic hallucination. They're not restricted to visual hallucinations but can also involve auditory and tactile hallucinations too. You may also feel as if you can't move. They're fairly normal but could be an indication of a sleep disorder (or not). They could also be caused by stress and, of course, drug use. If you have them somewhat regularly you really want to talk to your doctor. She'll probably refer you to a sleep lab for a sleep study where they can monitor your brain waves and other information. If they're being caused as part of a sleep disorder it's usually really easy to take care of the underlying problem.

I used to experience this as a young child. It's really frightening if you don't know what's going on. If you google on those terms you'll find lots of information.

14. Thanks for this information
Wow! I was starting to feel like a real freak, especially since this happen a few more times since the original post (not the champ face). It's definintely not caused by drug use, but it could be stress. You make me feel like a normal person again. I'll definitely google this and check it out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

15. You're welcome
I just threw in the drug use thing because stuff like marijuana and alcohol can cause them as well as some prescription drugs. Definitely not a value judgement.
