1. Same to you MG
It's like the frozen tundra down here in NC/SC today. Pretty to look at, but I'm starting to get cabin fever. You can only build so many snow creatures and today there is a frozen crust of icy glaze over the snow, so now we can't even do that.

2. Aw, so sorry to hear that
I saw pictures on Facebook that a friend in Georgia posted--yes, quite pretty! But I understand that the South doesn't have the wherewithal to tackle much in the way of snowfall, so I'm not surprised you're housebound. :( How much snow did you get? It looked like about two inches in the photos. And of course for those of us up north, two inches isn't even worth getting the plows out! :D We're expecting a dumping starting this afternoon--possibly 6 inches. I'll believe it when I see it--we've had a very "dry" winter (again). The South stole our snow!

3. I measured 6 inches out on the patio yesterday
Then last night it switched over to freezing rain, so that packed it down some, but I think the official total for this area was 6 inches. From looking at the news coverage, it appears the main roads are relatively clear, but it's the neighborhood roads that are still a great big mess.

I went out this a.m. to feed the feral kitties, and slipped and fell right on my butt -- thank Goddess it's substantially padded back there, so nothing was injured but my pride. Glad no one was watching except the cats, who just seemed annoyed that their breakfast had been delayed.

We are so not used to this, and don't have the equipment to clear it out as efficiently as northern cities because we don't really need it. It usually doesn't snow here but maybe once or twice a year, and then it's only an inch or two, and it usually doesn't even stick on the roads. Every few years, though, we'll get a whopper snow storm that takes us all by surprise.

4. Yikes!
Six inches is a crazy-lot for you! :scared:

Glad you weren't hurt when you fell--a bunch of years ago we had a killer an ice storm and I broke my finger slipping on the back steps (trying to get the damned dog to come back inside).

Hope it melts for you soon!

7. It's a stairway to the clothesline, which is on the bank above the
house. The stairs make it easier to tote my clothes basket up to the clothesline.
