I absolutely believe music can heal, not only from the emotional response it evokes but the vibrational resonance of certain music, which affects each person differently, IMHO.

1. Reminds me of the harpist a few years

ago who goes to hospitals/hospices in San Diego and plays for patients who want it. She is very successful with the music therapy. I had no idea that harp music is used in a full fledged organization training harpists to do what this particular musician does, http://harprealm.com/

When my mom was going into surgery 2years ago, the one thing that soothed our nerves sitting there beforehand was a real pianist in the huge lobby - more like an atrium - of the hospital. We weren't near him but each of us new that we weren't listening to piped music. It was just lovely.:-)

2. Baroque

Baroque period music does it for me. It renders my brain more functional and levels out my emotions. I especially love the sound of harpsichord.

Big Classical Symphonies can give me a high! "The Planets Suite" by Gustav Holst totally gives me a buzz!!!!!
