September 2010 Prayer, Light and Healing Requests Thread

Rough summer, eh? You betcha. (Sorry. Didn't mean to get all Palin on ya. x( ) Personal, national or global, there's no doubt it's been a tough past few months. Personal...we've witnessed so many of our ASAH friends go through hell and back recently, and some are still in the process of evolving, grappling with health, family, emotional, professional, and other issues. National and global...the floods in Pakistan, the oil spill in the Gulf, Whitestock-Beckapalooza, the unrelenting heat wave...oh somebody stop me. Basically, it's been pretty ugly.

But now fall looms--blessed fall, with its promise of new beginnings. Doesn't matter if you're still in school, recently finished, prepping your own kids or grandkids for school, or just remembering what September felt like when you were young, we can all relate to the feeling of excitement and newness. Seems like the Celts really knew what they were doing when they placed their New Year's celebration at the end of October (Samhain) instead of in the middle of winter. ;)

With that feeling of newness in mind, I rethought my original plan to beat my beloved ASAH friends over the heads with my theater background by posting the song "Try to Remember" from The Fantasticks ("Try to remember the kind of September / When life was slow and oh, so mellow /Try to remember the kind of September / When grass was green and grain was yellow..." etc.) on the grounds that it's too darn melancholy. (But if you want to get a gander at a young, hot Jerry Orbach from the 1962 Broadway production, check out the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycPoxZ1NPBY ).

Instead, I hereby send out the first prayer of the September: that everyone in the ASAH group, regulars, occasional visitors, lurkers, and newbies, have a blessed fall, filled with new beginnings, positive revelations, boundless creativity, limitless abundance, infinite blessings...and the heavenly smell of new pencils. May all have their needs met, whatever they may be, for the good of all and the free will of all. So Mote It Be.

And now...we dance! (Seriously--I dare you to sit still.) :grouphug:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy-huQAMPQA

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the mind of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars drove the night away, yeah yeah yeah

Hey hey hey,
Ba de ya say do you remember
Ba de ya dancing in September
Ba de ya never was a cloudy day

Ba duda, ba duda, ba duda, badu
Ba duda, badu, ba duda, badu
Ba duda, badu, ba duda

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay

Now December found the love that we shared in September
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today

Hey hey hey
Ba de ya say do you remember
Ba de ya dancing in September
Ba de ya never was a cloudy day

Now our bell was ringing,
Our souls were singing
Do you remember never a cloudy day - yow!

Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya
Ba de ya de ya de ya de ya

1. Really good intro, MorningGlow.
Haven't thought of September as a new beginning since days of school, always such a positive time.
May the prayer you sent to everyone in this group return to you many times over.

4. Awesomeness!!!!

From the "Whitestock" -- -- to a great song to shake my booty to this morning, to lovely images and reminders of why I adore fall....this is a brilliant, soothing, and inspiring opening to September.

Thank you SO much, MG!!!

:yourock:

P.S.-- I believe Sanity Claws mentioned somewhere that something was differently recently, something that reminded her of fall. I agreed. The temperature is NOT different -- still summertime heat -- but she noted that it's the LIGHT. The natural progress of our seasons shifts the way sunlight falls upon our landscape each day, and the way it shines upon my surroundings now reminds me so much of fall.

I adore fall. :loveya:

5. Beautiful opening, MG. "the heavenly smell of new pencils" is
intoxicating to me, too. I am sooooo grateful that the summer heatwave we had here in Georgia is finally over. We will still have 90+ days, but it has been cooling down at night and my A/C has stopped running nonstop. Ready for sweaters and getting back outside.

6. vertigo reduced continues
hoping it will be all gone soon or at least not permanent as I worry wart on about. digestive issues continue the same :(

Can I also ask for good vibes for finding another psychotherapist? With the health problems my long time therapist has been having that has limited her availability and the acute issues I am trying to deal with now I have been searching for someone nearby that takes my insurance to work with. Researching the different schools it seems that someone with Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness-based_cognitive_therapy might be the best kind for me. heh. I am being too specific. Please if you can send a few vibes out to find the right person to help me help myself. I am so lucky with my current therapist who I instantly clicked with that I keep telling myself that I am not selfish or asking too much for that to happen again to me!

26. yeah when the dramamine is not making my brain like moleasses
which while somehow cuts down on nerves I can't hardly get a blessed thing done, the nerves make the already tender aching innards go into knots like my guts have a charley horse. need to go in for colonoscopy which I am waiting to be scheduled for to make sure it is still just ibs and i think i might be taking dramamine that day whether or not I still have vertigo to keep from having nervous stomach cramps unless I have tamed my tum by then. my doc suggested antidepressants which in the past did little, made me foggy like the dramamine, or really flipped my lid. i am not eager to try anything like those again. i can catch myself if I am going down on my own. i worry that on a medication i might just go off without warning and not stop myself from self-harm.

31. Oh, that's terrible

Is your anxiety related to your IBS? My brother developed a tremor when he had bad IBS (test for Parkinson's was negative)--turned out he was malnourished because his body wasn't absorbing nutrients from the food he ate. That could give rise to all sorts of complications. Folks here have suggested probiotics, haven't they? They did wonders for my brother--now he can eat pretty much anything he wants. Worth a try, you think?

32. anxiety preceded the ibs by many many years
Edited on Thu Sep-02-10 07:48 PM by Shallah Kali
probiotics help but none stop the ibs. am currently alternating between natrol biobeads & kyolic 9 as neither have diary or gluten which I am allergic to. l-glutamine helps - they give it to people who have had bowel surgeries, certain vitamins help. I have to take as many vitamins as the digestive tract will tolerate as my diet is so limited. upper gi is clean in endoscopy last month. bloodwork and other tests show no infection or parasites and I am at least absorbing b-12 & folic acid. alternate between jarrow b-right and generic swanson's b-complex depending on budget. i knew to keep on them as studies show people flip their lids without b-vitamins. halluciations and more. adelle davis' Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit was my first nutrition bible. also carnosine-zinc called pepzin gi helps. used in Japan to heal ulcers, shown in rats at least to prevent vili (nutrient absorbative part of the bowel damaged by celiac and certain drugs) damage. don't have an ulcer just feel like I have one. l-glutamine and esp. the carnosine-zinc help cut the burning feeling.

17. I hope you find someone capable and compatible.
BTW: Sometimes therapists will work within your financial means if they are not in your insurance network, so if you find someone you like out-of-network, don't discount them before finding out the money aspect.

Good luck!

8. Thanks everybody for your kind words about the prayer intro
Appreciate it! (And sorry about the typos! Eep! MG Jr. wanted to watch a movie on my laptop, so I rushed to post it because he was bugging me! :P )

Anyway, now I have a request--a couple actually.

First, safe passage to my cousin Phil, who passed Tuesday night. He had a good, long life (he was 96), and now definitely deserves some rest and refreshment. And please some peace of mind for my mom and my aunt, who are distraught as they watch their generation dwindle drastically. In fact, they're the only two left of that generation of our family.

Also, some good vibes for my mom, who has been tussling with persistent nausea for months. She's also weak (NOT like her) and finds it difficult to do anything physical, even going up and down the basement stairs or carrying a small bag of groceries. She's had many blood tests, and everything's coming back in the normal range, so it's a puzzle. She thinks she might have a bladder infection or UTI (pain in that area) but she hasn't been checked for that yet. So if we could get a little nudge in the right direction, regarding diagnosis, that would be great...and also a boost in her trust in my holistic m.d., because if her idiot PCP can't figure it out (he just tells her she should be grateful to be alive "at her age"), that's where she's going next.

Thanks, everybody! :hi: :grouphug:

Today she tells me she's CURED. After several months of vague complaints, today she cancelled her doctor's appointment and mowed the lawn. Coincidence?!

Thanks for your prayers for Phil too. Yep, 96, same age as when my grandfather (his uncle) died. My grandmother died at 94. Serious genes on my mom's side of the family.

Aw, poor thing. I hope she is diagnosed swiftly. (BTW: In the past, I've had stress manifest itself as persistent nausea. Just a thought. That might explain the normal-range diagnostics.)

And Phil! 96!!! Wow! What a life! Can you imagine how many friends Phil must be catching up with?

Just today! Imagine that!

I think she had a virus coupled with a bad reaction to heat. She doesn't do well in high temps.

Yeah, Phil was a character--diehard practical joker (he once put a "Room for Rent" sign in my aunt and uncle's window--hilarity ensued). But people still loved him. Er, mostly.

9. Sorry, but may I repost this?
I wasn't even thinking and posted a request in the August thread on the very last day. Even since then, things have gotten worse for my friend, so if I may...

My Scorpio friend has been through hell this year and is now suffering from depression (which is being treated professionally, but things do not seem better). I so wish he could find the person he was and be happy again. And I also wish he'd let me help him (he keeps going "underground" saying he's a burden and I can't seem to convince him that he's not. He always feels better after talking to me. It's getting him to talk to me in the first place that is so hard.) And just when things start to look brighter, something happens that sends him backwards. He truly can't catch a break. :( (BTW he's 29 going on 30 -- Saturn return?)

(((((Thank you))))))

Lots of end-of-the-month requests get lost as the threads coincide. Light for your Scorpio friend, that he can see through his depression and ask for the help he needs. Don't take this all on yourself, SF. It's not your burden to bear alone.

10. Prayers/Light for husband, please...
Yes, yes..I know. After all that's gone on w/us. But he really, really, really needs it.
He basically lost his job yesterday. He's on suspension. He didn't really do anything; but there's no way to prove that, and the reality is that someone else wanted his shifts so things were made up and said.
On top of all his legal problems, and the ones we are having, and the equipment problems...yeah.
I can only see this as the Universe clearing the way for something else & better for him, what with it all happening at the same time.
So I would appreciate it, IF you feel comfortable, to please send whatever you think is appropriate in his direction. He is open to receiving as far as I can suss out, but of course that's just my perception. For the highest good of all involved....

Thank you friends.

I have tried arnica gell, arnica pills and the medical doc gave me prednisone and vicodin, i am afraid to take it. I think i have to gove in and take the meds and get the inflammation response to stop, but i hate the way they make me feel.

took another bath this evening...made the teenager go into the store and handle the shopping alone (he never even comes with me, so all I could do was give him a list and hope for the best) then I left him to make dinner and go to healing circle for an hour...

Haven't been in class all summer, but the love and light never ceases to hold space for when we show up. Amrito gave me a hug and said.."don;t even go down into it, just sit and meditate and recieve...you know what to do."

among all the strange pictures and stuff i was dropping & releasing, i did get that this is related to Kundalini
like the snake is kinked (like one of those old telephone cords) and I get to meditate on smoothing the spirals and opening the channels

oy-vey! More learning at its densest levels!

After your post above, I decided to share it.

"By measuring sound vibrations, scientists know that the caterpillar in the cocoon is shrieking. Screaming in pain as its body changes form from the caterpillar -- a lowly creature, in most senses -- to the beloved and beautiful butterfly. The butterfly is used in many traditions as a symbol of transformation and especially transmutation through death. Yet, in our highly romanticized versions, we do not acknowledge the transformation as a painful process. Painful, but not fatal." ~ Deborah Morris Coryell, "Good Grief: Healing Through the Shadow of Loss"

37. Another request, for some relatives of mine
Well, they aren't actually blood relatives, but we treat them like they are (they're my cousin's stepsister and her daughter--complicated? and long story of a convoluted family tree). But anyway, I just found out that the commonlaw husband of...let's call her my "stepcousin" for lack of a better word...has been sexually abusing her daughter since she was an infant (she's 21 now). He just walked out on my stepcousin and moved in with another woman who has no knowledge of his tendencies. He's very bold about it--told my stepcousin that she can't prosecute because the statute of limitations has expired (but I'm not sure that's true--must look it up), mainly because he has a lot of connections in their tiny town, and he knows that he can wiggle out of anything my stepcousin tries to pin on him. Plus his sister is a lawyer.

My cousin is incredibly distraught, as you can imagine. Her daughter is coping, as she always has, even though this creep made a move on her only weeks ago. But we're concerned for her, because now she's away at college, and he could drive there for a "visit" if he wants--and there's some evidence that that is what he's been planning.

So prayers for everyone involved, please, that my stepcousin her daughter find the strength to do the right thing and persevere until this creep is behind bars. (Ironically, this guy is a prison guard. Hmmm...) And that they find the right therapist to help them heal. (My stepcousin had gone to a bad therapist a while back who told her it was all her fault--I WANT THAT GUY'S LICENSE.)

And on a personal note, may I just say that while the rest of the family was enchanted with this guy because he "did everything around the house" and "put up with" my eccentric stepcousin, I NEVER LIKED THE GUY. I only wish I had had better psychic insights as to why I felt the way I did. But I knew something wasn't right about him. x(

After I calm down a bit, I'll light a candle and hold the mother and daughter in my thoughts and send well wishes, and pray justice is served regarding the lousy excuse for a human being.

39. Thank you for your prayers, OGR
It is indeed sickening. My stepcousin is such a pure soul, and in a way an innocent, so I'm not surprised she was taken in regarding all this. And her daughter is a lovely, loving person, in a medical assistant program at college, and she has been living with and taking care of her ailing grandmother. Neither one of them deserved to suffer like this.

I'm not usually a violent person, but in this case I would advocate that this guy be hung upside down by his toenails and beaten with a board filled with rusty nails.

I looked it up, and the statute of limitations did indeed expire--in New York, an abuser can be prosecuted up to five years past the victim's 18th birthday, and the girl is older than I thought--23 instead of 21. The arrogant creep did his homework.

But we can prayer for karmic justice (or that the law is changed--people are campaigning for that to happen) and healing for his victims--the girl, as well as my stepcousin, who was mentally abused all those years.

Yes, I will join you in the karmic justice prayer.

I'm not usually a violent person either, but I tell ya what....when this kind of thing, or abuse of any of our most vulnerable members of society (children, elderly, animals, specially-abled, homeless) occurs, I go into Mama Lion mode and I have NO DOUBT I can and will inflict physical harm.

It's a knee-jerk reaction, maybe it's not good, but it's there.

I'm shaking with rage as I type this.

44. Rage is perfectly understandable in this case
After all, being a pacifist doesn't automatically equate to being a sucker. ;)

I'm also sending light to prevent him from finding any future victims. I hope his new GF finds him out. I wish my stepcousin could inform her, but of course the guy would just tell his new GF that his ex is crazy and making stuff up, and the GF would believe him.

One thing I find morbidly fascinating in all this is how manipulative he is--I'm getting an inside look at how evilly brilliant a psycho like that can be, convincing people of whatever he wants. :scared:

WOW...I too can relate from personal experience. I'm shaking right now cause I'm so angry at this piece of crap that calls itself a man! I really don't understand the statute of limitations regarding this. It should be the same all over the country....a federal law !! How is it that young boys coming forward years after they are grown are able to file lawsuits against the Catholic Church for sexual abuse by Priests?
and to add insult to injury...this slob works in a prison? Hope to hell it's not a female prison! I'm holding out for Karma on this one....and it's no excuse, but this guy was probably very "carefully taught" to be the scourge that he's become!! God help us all!!

50. Terribly sorry this is happening to your family. My tips
for recognizing (some) child molesters on an intuitive level:

1) Almost all register with me as having sketchy, sliding energy. I believe this to be a reflection of their very damaged boundaries.

2) I will always pick up on what I can only describe as a "sleazy" vibe, which often shows up in my visualizations as a yellowish brown energy around them. I don't know how else to describe it except "sludgy," maybe "shitty," because, well, that's what the color reminds me of.

3) Sometimes, I will "see" (in my mind) a brown energy all around them, instead of the sludgy yellow shade. Brown energy is the kind I typically see around drug addicts, and I think it shows up around molesters because for many, the drive to commit these acts is like the drive to abuse alcohol and drugs is for substance addicts.

I am not, I repeat, not, suggesting that there is such a thing a "child molestor energy." However, in my relatively limited experience, this is what I "get" around them.

49. *Sigh* Now I know why I chose to do the September prayer thread--ANOTHER request from me
I don't think I've racked up this many requests in all previous prayer threads combined! Anyway, some protection for me and my family please?

We have some really nasty neighbors. The guy's brain is fried from too many drugs and his three kids (well, two are his, one is the son of his ex-wife's other ex, but he's lumped in there) are truly awful pieces of work. We've had our run-ins with them repeatedly, but I'm very concerned about our current situation.

Loooong story short, we've been smelling gasoline since last winter. We figured out that one of our neighbor's cars is leaking. Although we were upset about it stinking up our house and polluting our property (his driveway is right up against our side yard), we ignored it in the interest of keeping the peace. But last night the smell was so strong that Mr. MG woke up light-headed and disoriented. It was time.

So reluctantly I called the fire department's office line. Got an answering machine. Ditto with the police office line. (Gotta love small towns.) So I called 911 but said it wasn't an emergency. I played dumb and said that I smelled gasoline but I didn't know where it was coming from. Well. A 911 operator hears "gas odor" and ignores the "non-emergency" part. Within minutes we had a police cruiser, an ambulance (!), and three fire trucks from two villages on our street (and the firemen set up a roadblock).

The police officer and I walked into my side yard and he immediately pegged it to our neighbor's car on the other side of the stockade fence. Firemen confirmed it with their sensors (like they needed them). Neighbor was cited for having a non-roadworthy car and ordered to fix it or get rid of it. I braced myself for fallout, but he said nothing all day.

HOWEVER, he has custody of the delinquents tonight. The older of the two girls is under house arrest for beating up other girls in town (nice) but either this situation was enough to get her to violate her house arrest, or her sentence is up, because somebody did a "ding dong ditch" around 9:30. Not very effective, however, as we don't have a doorbell. So they just knocked and ran. :eyes:

I totally called it. I KNEW they were going to do just that. And I know this is only the beginning. In fact, I informed the police officer this morning that I expected retribution from these troglodytes. I won't be wrong, I'm sorry to say. I expect harassment, vandalism (they've done it before), and who knows what else.

I'm not afraid of them, but I don't like being tense about a situation. For the first time in the five years we've lived here, I locked our doors. I'm also quite ready to call 911 on them if they do ANYthing to our property or any member of my family. But I'd rather take preventative measures and nip it all in the bud before anything like that manifests.

So please, I'm asking for whatever you've got to keep these people at bay. Mr. MG is ready to put a "for sale" sign up like...tomorrow. With the exception of these awful neighbors, we live in a very nice village and I'd prefer not to be run out of town by heathens like these.

Thanks, everyone. Going to try to get some shut-eye now. :(

60. Yeah! That was why I told the cop that I wanted to go on record right then
that I expected them to try to "get revenge". He brushed it off. Pssshhht! And this, coming from a town cop who KNOWS how much trouble emanates from this guy's house! When we walked into my side yard, right near the guy's driveway, which "T"s up against our fence (and this guy put a hole in the fence with his tailpipe, but that's another story!), he said, "The smell is definitely coming from one of your neighbor's cars. Who's your neighbor...?" And then he glanced over and exclaimed, "Is that (dude's last name)?!" as in "Oh Christ not this asswipe again!"

At least, with his long and illustrious history, if I do have to call the cops on this guy or his kids, they'll be quite inclined to believe me.

Thanks for the O8), JA. I'll take 'em and gladly!

I was laughing about it on FB, but I still had an inkling even then that the little delinquents might lash out. Thanks for the wishes for their confinement--that's all I want: for them to STAY ON THEIR SIDE OF THE FENCE and leave us the phk alone. I have smudged my property before and I will do so again as soon as I can, although it's difficult finding a time when people won't see me. I also just bought a little packet of sage and lavender and I'm going to put it in a small bowl by the front door...maybe split it into two bowls and put the other by the back door.

Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 06:40 PM by Shallah Kali
it hit several days ago and hasn't left. Trying to figure out if there was a specific trigger or what. I am trying st. johns wort again and while it has made things less bad I am no where near my norm. It is like the life has been sucked out of everything. Normally even when I am sad or upset about something I can take joy in things like my precious kitties. Everyday I would fall in love with them again with uncontrollable awwwwwwwwws when they did something extra cute or just for being their precious fuzzy wuzzy angleic selves. Even with st johns wort max dose the best they can get from me is a 'cute'.

btw if anyone is worried my therapist knows what is going on as does my Mom with whom I live. Don't know if this is worse than last winter's depression, it certainly hit harder and faster. I can't help but worry that it is going to stick and I will be like I was in my teens. chronic indigestion continues, vertgo reduced but hits if I bend over more than 2-3 seconds, oh and my freaking hair is falling out w/mega scalp itch and has been for sometime and the doc thinks it's stress & prescribed a steroid which made it fall out *faster*. i tried zinc, selenium, tea tree oil and expensive antifungal shampoos alone and in combination while praying my head won't spontaneous explode from mixing chemicals. I take b-complex AND extra d-biotin 5mg every day AND MSM. at least it makes the hair left look good. stopped the stupid steroid and rub generic benedryl on my scalp for the itching.

He has a job. We're very thankful for it.

He's been on two interviews over the past two weeks. He's having a hard time dealing with the outcome. They said "no". The excuse given was that my husband didn't fit into their "corporate culture". Let's face it: I hear a buzzphrase like "corporate culture", and I immediately think the real reason is something they're not telling him because they'll get sued.

I told him that it wasn't a good fit if the guy in question wasn't truthful in the first place.

He needs to move on. Please send whatever it is he needs to do so.

93. What a wonderful prayer, kimmerspixelated!

This is so simple and pure...perfect.

Blessed Be, Blessed Be, Blessed Be (I have no idea why I just typed that...it's a Wiccan saying, yes?)

Feels lovely, as does your prayer.

110. Sorry that I'm just seeing this now, OGR. I'm definitely sending your way.
I'm asking that the way be cleared so that whatever is for the highest good can quickly and easily be achieved. If the highest good isn't the outcome that you wished to occur, I ask that this be made very clear to you so that you know that no further effort is required on your part. I ask that you be supported during this time so that you can maintain balance and feel at peace with whatever the final outcome is.

91. Several requests, if you don't mind
Prayers for my aunt's niece (her husband's sister's daughter), who just had surgery to remove 6" malignant tumor (and radical hysterectomy because of it).

Safe passage for my former English professor, who had a massive heart attack while descending a mountain after scattering his friend's ashes (my former history professor).

And a health boost for me and MG Jr., please. We're recovering from the First Plague of the School Year, but it is slooooowwww--cough and snurfles won't go away and it's been a week. x(

Thanks! :hi:

(I can't get "Blessed Be" said three times, in an almost OCD manner, out of my head. That's a Wiccan expression, isn't it? Is there any significant to saying so in three's -- of course, typing that just made me think of The Power of Three. If I'm using it inappropriately out of sheer ignorance, please let me know. It just feels so....peaceful....Blessed Be, Blessed Be, Blessed Be, on behalf of me and thee.)

96. Thank you, OGR
I'm afraid my former professor passed on from his heart attack, so let's make those "safe passage" vibes for him. I didn't realize that he and my former history professor were linked like that (I believe that when one person dies, then another person who knows them dies unexpectedly soon afterward, that they are linked in the soul family realm and have other things to do together--that's happened in my immediate family twice recently), but I'm not surprised that they were. I attended a very small college, and it always seemed to me that anyone who was there--professor, student, or staff--was "meant to be there". I know I felt that when I first set foot on campus.

Thanks also for the healing vibes. Day-um, this virus does NOT want to let go. Progress during the day, then the next morning it's like starting from square one again. :(

As for "blessed be", yes, it is a Wiccan expression that we use mostly as a closing in correspondence (or when we're leaving), or just for...well...blessing people whenever. :) And YES we definitely welcome things in threes, including invocations. When we do a spell, we will often use threes as often as possible--three coins or other tokens, saying/writing things three times, etc. Nicely done!

99. Hi y'all! Need some healing vibes.
Thursday my left side by my waist was sore and I felt bad. I thought my intestines were feeling bad from eating too much trail mix and nuts. Friday morning at 5:45 I woke up in horrible pain on my left side of my back above my waist. I had to take some industrial strength Tylenol (prescription kind) and sleep all day.

I have a kidney stone. Back in 2008 I would have an attack about once a month, for six months. I don't know what brings it on. This is the first attack I have had in a long time.

Been drinking lots of water and hot jello. Hot jello is good for calming a stomach.

I guess eventually I will have to go get lithotripsy. Don't have any insurance. I do have some money. I don't know how much it costs here. It's enough to make me want to get a passport and go to Mexico to get it done cheaper.

The worst pain I ever had was an ovarian cyst that popped and I had to go to the ER. This was almost as bad.

Others will surely have nutritional and other recommendations to avoid formation in the future, though it seems some people are prone to it, genetically?

I'll visualize it dissolving too!!

I've been reading on the intertubes and can't find any info about what causes them (other than probably not drinking enough water, that would be obvious), or what brings on the pain attacks.
I guess that means that Medical Science doesn't know! My parents and sister (family of origin) never had kidney or gallstones.

116. I can tell you what my urologist has explained to me about some of this.
Yes, I've had kidney stones off and on since I was 30 (I'm 49 now) so I know the pain and what causes it.

Kidney stones are very spiky little things, often being calcite in composition. If I remember correctly, those are formed from too much oxalic acid in the blood, which is the result of things like coffee, caffeine sodas, spinach, rhubarb, and (worst on this list of things to give up) chocolate :o

Now, as far as the pain goes, it's not enough that the stones are spiky. No, your body then has to use peristalsis pretty much everywhere having to do with food intake and waste removal. The tube that goes from your kidney to your bladder is called the urethra and it gets gradually smaller from the kidney on down. The opening at the bladder is only 2 millimeters across! And that peristaltic action of the urethra squeezes the fluid through it, and squeezes on that spiky little stone. Stones that get stuck on the way to the bladder can't be removed by lithotripsy because of how fragile the urethra is. They can use that technique while it's still in the kidney or in the bladder. It's sounds, too, by your description that it's still in the kidney which is best for treatment :)

Last time I read about lithotripsy, it was practically an "outpatient" kind of thing now, so you might want to call about it if the pain doesn't subside. Because the alternative if it starts to move out is they have to go in with that tube I can't think of the name of that makes everyone squirm :P That kind of thing requires anesthesia and is very expensive.

There are many herbs you can take, mostly as a tea, but as I'm at work, I don't recall more than one, and that's corn silk. I do recommend the book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by Phyllis Balch, C.N.C., and I see it's in its fourth edition (I have a second edition version.) It is a phenomenal book to have around, and includes not only herbal suggestions, but supplements and dietary recommendations. When I get home tonight, I'll look up kidney stones and see what else I can add to this.

How are you doing now? I know this is several days after your first incident of pain, so maybe it's either moved out of a painful position or started to shrink from the added fluids. I do hope you're feeling better soon and can beat it without medical attention

108. Requesting good vibes re: a seriously intense situation now

It's all for the best, but there is a critical situation playing out with someone I perceive to be very emotionally unstable, with many truths finally coming to light (which is always a good thing. :) )

Conflict with this person has repeatedly caused me physical illness over the last few years. I take responsibility for allowing it, yet I never succeeded in preventing it and detaching from that energy. I did try. :(

I am in the process of removing that person from my life now, and this person is kicking, screaming, threatening -- then being syrupy sweet and wanting to "make nice." When this person doesn't get their way, they go back to the meanness and threatening tone.

It's a very disconcerting energy....a frantic energy I choose to remove from my experience completely now.

It involves a huge aspect of my life, so I do humbly request any good vibes sent my way to give me strength, as such conflicts really, really wear me down.

Thanks. :)

Loving Presence
Surround Yourself with Love

Even though it might not always seem like we have much control over who we are with in our life- we do.

In our everyday life we are surrounded by a variety of people. Some of the people we deal with on a daily basis are a joy to be with, and their loving presence nurtures and encourages us. Others may have the opposite effect, draining us of our energy, making us feel tired and exhausted. Our well-being can be easily influenced by those around us, and if we can keep this in mind, we will have greater insights into the quality of our social interactions and their energetic effect on us.

My chiropractor says any numbness in the fingers usually means a misalignment of your neck. I've had that kind of numbness in my fingers before and the longest it's ever lasted was a couple of days. It gradually goes away as you move, but if you can get a spinal adjustment, I'd recommend it :)

I don't know if the arm pain is associated with the neck or not. Here are my healing vibes for you as the only other thing I can do

If that doesn't help, I'll have to see a regular M.D.

I called the nearest hospital about lithotripsy (I live in a rural area) and they want $3,000 for the urologist and somewhere between 8 and $14K for the treatment.

Arrgh. I sure wish we had single-payer.

i posted in gd because it's relevant to everyone who is still trying to make it work in this broken system.

I don't know what to do with myself, it always comes to this.
I want to do so much goodness with my life, i have so much to share and give...but i have to feed my family and there is nowhere to turn. the panic of poverty sets in and i start looking at something, anything to get us by, even if it kills my soul. but the thing is, the universe has been blocking that option too...because nothing is happening. all those resumes, no bites.

am i really supposed to just create my own thing and make it work after all?

who knows...i just don't want to be 'controlled' by the state anymore...i feel so useless and trapped
