Don't forget your black kyanite.

As some of you know, I'm a big fan of this stone. It was a post about black kyanite that led me to this forum, almost exactly five years ago. Supposedly, it was great for ridding oneself of negative energy. I didn't totally believe it, but I went out and got some anyway. I found it to be terrifically healing. I used it throughout 2006 and '07, to keep my energy balanced. Then I forgot about it.

I've been struggling with the remnants of a bad cold these last couple of weeks, which has been very frustrating. The main problem was an overwhelming sense of fatigue, brought about by a lingering cough. Last night, I randomly decided to spend some quality time with my kyanite, holding it in my hand for a half hour or so. Woke up this morning with no cough, no back pain and a lot more energy. In fact, the fatigue is practically gone. So, I can still highly recommend kyanite for those "extra" healing needs.

1. I'm trying to remember if I have any kyanite...

I'll have to look it up now :) It's good to hear it had such a positive effect on you. If I have any, I'll have to give it a try, too.

I've got plenty of other stones, though, like fluorite, malachite, and this big honkin' piece of red agate with a calcite crystal formation on top. I had dug it up out in West Texas in my teen years when we went out there to dig for rocks :D

2. Does a rock filled with Mica have any

kind of powers? I have a big chunk that my son gave me for sentimental reasons. It was from a huge "climbing rock" my kids loved to climb when they were visiting my parents when they were little. I've been trying to get an answer to this for a while now. I use it for a paper weight on my desk. I have a small peice of crystal sitting "piggy back" on it. I got ythe crystal from my grandson Aidan. He "found it for Nana".

4. One thing about it I didn't know (in addition to everything else!)

is that's it's also known as Muscovite :)

6. Does it have to be black kyanite?

I have a lot of blue and even a little green kyanite I use to make jewelry. I've been feeling so negative lately, I may try to wear some every day.

7. Oooh, green kyanite is supposedly more potent.

I've never tried it myself, but one of my male friends said it knocked the pants of black kyanite.

11. I haven't tried black kyanite. Right now my favorites are Jet & black tourmaline

*Especially* used together :crazy:. black onyx is good too. For me Jet feels the best at drawing out unhealthy energy followed by black tourmaline. black onxy feels more as if it is absorbing the negativity of others than drawing any out of me so while it is great for protection it is not as good, for me at least, as jet & black tourmaline.

I do have a ring with a bit of blue kyanite but I did not feel any sort of drawing or protection. I felt it in my third eye & crown in particular (& maybe the transpersonal point & others above it), as if it was opening my esp up more so I only wear along with something protective and grounding. In the past I had a tendency to go partially out of body most of the time so I have to consciously counter that when I use or do anything that stimulates the higher chakras. hm. I think blue kyanite might be useful for oob work if I wasn't so nervy at the thought of trying anything like that.
