The oil disaster and some insights I have been getting particularly after
listening to these hearings today. OY! I think I need to put this in the form of questions.

Is Mother Earth taking a hit for the team? Did she allow herself to be so wounded so the world would sit up and take notice? Is this what it took to change how we do business? Even the Republicans (with a few exceptions) are asking intelligent questions and are letting the industry know that they are at failure. It seems that the world, if not us, aren't going to tolerate environmental crap like this anymore. Even the people of the South realize it's messed up their lifestyle for a long time. Is this the beginning of some sort of difficult but positive salvation?

2. My humble opinion
we are the earth, it is us
there is no separation
Pluto is purging deep pus from within :hi:

3. So you seem to think this is Pluto at work?
Do you see any other signs or influences by other planet that might change things for the better? I'm just almost out of hope myself.

5. 0 doubt it's Pluto

we saw this coming 3 years ago. We didn't specifically see an oil spill, but we saw things at that level. You can read the 3 docs at the top of my web page www.starself.com to see how it is really based archetypally

I think it's going to get much worse. Planets don't make it better or worse. That's not how they work. It's US that is the problem, not the oil or the planets. It's symbolic of inner illness. We have to solve all of this inside ourselves first, then within the family, then... etc.

My take on it. It scares me too, esp. since I saw it coming.

I hope I'm real wrong :hi:

4. That's an interesting thought.
Personally, I am not convinced by either the idea that we're getting ready to move collectively into a higher consciousness, nor that we are all doomed (or most of us anyway) and that a terrible destruction of some kind is about to happen.

I think we're all just here to muddle along as best we can in this lifetime. I do sincerely believe that we ought to treat each other with honesty, kindness, dignity, and respect, and that we ought to try very hard to leave this world a better place than when we came in. But it doesn't seem to me as if enough people are behaving that way, compared to all those who behave badly, to make a difference.

Now this is not to suggest that what you've put out there, Cleita, isn't the truth and the correct way of seeing things. I might be too stuck in my own narrow view of things to properly see the larger picture.

6. I absolutely think so
As soon as I heard about the oil spill, my first thought was "this is the motivator that will get people moving off petroleum-based fuel". Because yes, sometimes some of us need THAT much of a dope-slap to wake up.

I'm amazed and impressed that many conservatives are irate about this. But I don't think this is the tipping point just yet. However, it's getting us there. This has been a giant leap forward in learning our lesson about needing to develop alternative power sources.

Let's say we're at the...68th monkey or so. ;)

12. I really think we'll be at the 100th monkey pretty soon--well before the end of the year. But then
sometimes I'm weirdly optimistic...

7. yes.
This is the beginning of the wake-up call. ENOUGH!!!!!!

When I look through GD, I see individuals here and there, who normally would be mocking us, writing, literally, it is as if Earth said, "You want oil? I'LL GIVE YOU OIL!!!!!!!"

Those who resist the message will simply bring about worse destruction.

8. With all sincerity I hope this is just a wake-up call.

Since April 20 I've been fighting off the feeling that we've had enough warning and our time is up.

I'm so sorry.

9. you are not alone in this, crikkett
Every time I begin to feel any hope, I read more devastating news.

The bottom line is we really don't know how this will turn out. Costner's machines, when built and deployed, will be able to keep up with the flow. They process 200,00+ gallons/day, so 20 of them will handle 4 million gallons/day and the rest will slowly clean up the tens of millions of gallons already out there. But the coast and wetlands will be dead zones for decades to come. And other dangers exist. The seabed is compromised -- they are in a race against time to plug the hole before the seabed gives way or the BOP topples over and breaks it, in which case there will be no plugging the hole. And the oil mix is apparently 75% methane, which could explode at any time. It was a large methane bubble that started the file, and it was an even larger methane bubble escaping from the north sea that created a fjord in Norway and extended the last big ice age by 1,000 years.

The bottom line for me is, BE HERE NOW. This is the only moment we are sure we have. All else is out of our hands. Make every minute you have now count...whether it is caring for yourself or caring for another.

13. I'm hearing more and more about the seabed breaking

apart; collapsing and a gas bubble bursting up from the depths.

My intuitive information is that this is as likely an outcome as anything. It is more in the range of probability.

I really trust Thom Hartmann, who said it will take more than the oil volcano to get everyone's attention. Is the whole thing breaking up going to be it? Perhaps.

My two observations:

First, send love. The rocks on the bottom of the sea (Gulf of Mexico) tremble. There is much fear from every direction that is affecting this. Love dissolves fear. Send love.

And the next best thing to do is to take Ricochetastroman's advice and "let go". Where you find old stuck structures in your life that don't work the way they should anymore - let them go. Let go of anything that is old, stuck, no longer useful. Carry forward what is useful. Let go of what is not.

That is all. Over and out.

Oh, and I love you all,
Bonnie

11. I'm finding this more depressing than being hopeful too, but I
am trying to cling to a little bit of hope that this is a wake up call to change our ways and not doom.
