April 2010 Prayer, Light, and Healing requests (part 2)
As we began this month, we offered our ears, our hearts, our compassion to those who entered this door. May our hearts remain open to hear and may all in need receive what is rightfully theirs. As I have stated before, we are all one. When one is harmed, all are harmed. When one is helped, all are helped in unknown ways.

May the healing, light-filled, and loving energies that lived through the caring responses in Part I continue into Part II. Part I can be found here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=114207&mesg_id=114207

Now, to begin this thread ...

In the words of the Cree People:
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

Let us pray.
Spirits of the four directions, East, South, West, and North,
Powers of the Elements, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth,
Wheel of the seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter,
Be here now, as we invoke this sacred space,
And for a moment in time, free ourselves from all limitations,
From all delusions of separateness.
Be here now, and help us, to draw our spirits down
From the lonely flights of the ego, into our bodies,
And let us be filled with the joy of your limitless light,
Beyond the bounds of time,
Where night and day,
Birth and death,
Joy and sorrow,
Meet as one.

Abundant blessings to all.

1. I am having cataract surgery Monday.
That is for the left eye. Then, two weeks later, I will have the right eye done.

But I can't see well at all any more. It has to be done.

Thanks for the encouragement and healthy energies.

3. You will be thrilled at the clarity of your distance vision. I had
my right eye done last year and am still amazed at how well I can see. It was a few months before I could get a prescription for glasses to correct the near vision for reading, but for the first time in memory, I can actually see/read TV without my glasses. I will have the left eye done in a couple of years. I had 2 retinal surgeries on my right eye which caused early formation of the cataract.

I did have a bit of clouding after the surgery, but the Dr. did a quick, painless laser treatment that cleared it up, and he said it will be crystal clear forever.

Best of luck to you with your surgeries. Keep us posted!

6. Hello all...
I would like to request some guidance and clarity to seek a new path in life.

In February of last year, I lost my job at a company I worked at for nearly 2 decades. Long story short, I'm trying to learn to become an ESL teacher by volunteering to work with refugees. And I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing! I want to help them, but I need to learn the ropes fast!

Thanks. :dunce:

7. Hello, Dulcinea.
I don't think I've seen you around before - welcome. :hi:

I am a strong proponent of following your heart and your excitement - if this is what is calling to you, there must be a wonderful reason. You may not have a conscious clue, but my hunch is that if you follow this new path, your clues will show up as you walk. Synchronicity will rule.

Congratulations for taking up a new challenge - may your dreams help show you your new way.

11. Dulcinea,
It sounds like you are following a passion. Continue to open yourself up to new lessons and absorb as much as you can. I think you are doing something wonderful and your last statement is a wonderful request to the Universe: you want to help others and you need help in learning as much as possible, as soon as possible, for the greatest good of all involved.

17. I am exhausted and depressed over my continued knee issues
Yes, they replaced it, but now it needs to be done over again! They don't know what went wrong and probably won't know until they go in. The pain is unbearable and I am on Schedule II timed release narcotics to help me get through the day (and night). The side effects are horrible as you can imagine.

I desperately want to see someone who specializes in problems like this and has many, many years of expertise so I don't end up even WORSE off since that has been the case so far. The powers that be want me to see someone whom I don't feel is qualified. I am frankly terrified. Revisions are a bitch to go through especially when there are "issues".

Whatever prayers you can offer that the PTB will reconsider and allow me to see the top person would be appreciated.
Oh, and if you can get the pain level down a few notches would also be a godsend.

Sorry to be such a noodge.

Breathe deeply; connect with Mother Earth, planting your energy firmly with her. Then take the time to allow the energy to rise through all your body so you may connect with Father Sky.

I'm listening to a talk about the destruction of the Baiji's environment and its suffering and extinction. The story is so painful to hear. Came here to voice my angst so that it can maybe pass and I can work on things that I *can* change for the better.

Thanks everyone.

40. Please send light, comfort, prayers, energies, etc. to my brother-in-law.
He is only 50, but has spent many years drinking and taking drugs and his health is ruined. He has a nearly non-functioning liver, also peripheral artery disease to the degree where he cannot use one of his legs. Right now, he is in the hospital. The nursing staff are very overworked and he doesn't get as much attention as he needs. None of the family live in the town where the hospital is, and most of us are at least 3 hours away.

I would appreciate your prayers, thoughts, energies, etc. for him. Thank you.

42. In honor of Earth Day, a poem
Sensation of the Mystical
("found poetry")

The most beautiful and profound emotion we can experience
is the sensation of the mystical.
It is the sower of all true science.
He to whom this emotion is a stranger,
who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead.
To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists,
manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty,
which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms -
this knowledge, this feeling,
is at the center of true religion.

Please pray that the Universe direct me to a NEW Primary Care Dr. It's hard to find one willing to take on new medicare patients. I've got access to many Drs. with different specialties, but I need the Primary to write the 'scrips that I need long term. I've had it with my Dr.!!! Long story...too depressing to go into tonight!!

58. Preface to Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass”
I find this perfect for today:

"This is what you shall do:
Love the earth and sun and the animals,
despise riches, give alms to every one that asks,
stand up for the stupid and crazy,
devote your income and labor to others,
hate tyrants,
argue not concerning God,
have patience and indulgence toward the people,
take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men,
go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families,
read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life,
re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book,
dismiss whatever insults your own soul;
and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body."

60. Protective light
for my daughter and myself (more my daughter).

My ex is on the warpath and he's completely illogical, so there's no reasoning with him. Basically, he badgers people, accusing them of things they've never done and no matter what you say or do, he hears and believes only what he wants to. Then he uses passive-aggressive behavior to threaten you (for example, "be happy I'm not the type of person who would...")

I wish his job would transfer him far away. I am so done with his evil nonsense.

67. You should contact the authorities for documentation purposes if not protection.
To make sure people know what's going on. And if contacting an attorney and police makes it worse, that is a sign you really do need an order. Yes, the cops may say he's done nothing actionable, or they may recognize the situation for what it is and explain to your husband that his behavior needs to change. You should still get in touch with your attorney ASAP.

You don't say how old she is, but you might want to involve law enforcement officials. May both of you be surrounded by the light and love and grace of the Universe.

And in whatever way it needs to happen, may your ex "see" the light.

70. Most legal services (or legal aid) offices have a domestic violence
project and will help you get out of this situation. When I worked for them, they helped many, many women resolve just this type of situation. Most of the women were able to stay in their homes and the abuser was "removed." They will work with the courts and law enforcement to keep you safe. Please give them a call.

76. Remember, in the new increasingly positive energy
that which is negative, will increase proportionately...and act accordingly.

PLEASE take care of yourself and your daughter. Let all relatives know what is going on and perhaps have someone stay with you both for a while. Someone like Hulk Hogan, you know. Sorry to make lite of things, but I'm serious. Do you have any friends with dogs who might stay over (and the dog too?)?

You must take action to counter this negative energy. You and yours are in my prayers :(

80. Fibroids can burst too
Totally heinous. You had one expand and burst--those were the stabbing pains. You'll ache for another 24 hours or so (maybe less). But another one could do the same sooner or later.

Seriously, look into vit. D. And how is your blood sugar level lately? When my thyroid went kablooey my blood sugar shot up and the PCOS started with a vengeance, but only found out when I had my fertility checked (it was nearly nonexistent). Cysts are a painful form of birth control; I don't recommend it.

81. I am hoping this is the catalyst i needed for the doc to DO something
I had been requesting a tubal...but now it is looking more like a Hysterectomy. If my body is making these things, no reason to keep that garbage in me. This is why my mom and sister had to have their plumbing removed too, at about the same age. I was hoping I would be less problematic, but I guess not.

I dunno about my vit levels. The rheumy said she is more concerned with my BP and surgery right now, so the BP meds she gave me that I have been avoiding are back on the menu till I get surgery clearance. I also have to make sure I leave a window for the Enbrel to wear off, or else run the risk of infections... ugh

tomorrow I get to see the OBGYN again, and politely request that she get this garbage OUT of me ASAP! No more bad periods, no more horrific mood swings, no more weight gain, ...just.no. more. girl problems !!

82. That might not be the answer, darlin'
I still have all my bits, but from what I've learned from women who have had hysterectomies, it's pretty traumatic and stressful (sudden menopause).

You need to have other stuff checked first, before you go demanding to have your insides cut out.

Weight gain, mood wings, bad periods, and fibroids are symptomatic of many other illnesses that don't require a hysterectomy. In fact, I had all of those when my thyroid problems were undiagnosed. Not saying your problems are thyroid related, but you could be having hormonal issues of a different sort.

You need a full panel of blood tests--hormones, thyroid (including free T3 and T4, not just TSH), pituitary, endocrine, etc. Seriously, talk to your doctor and/or OB/GYN about other options to investigate before you pull the plug on your innards, okay?

90. I know, but I *have* done all that
This has been an issue my whole life(female problems galore)...and goes all the way back to my grandma, mom and older sister... so I know the outcome, and I am okay with that. I'd rather get the gunk OUT of me and deal with hormones holisitcally than keep dealing with the pain, inflammaion, etc... (I have had the battery of blood tests recently and annually, nothing else to report other than screwy hormones and inflammation reponse.)

I will be asking the doc if the history looks like I have cysts mainly on the one side- if the other ovary still looks happy - I'd like to keep it and reduce the hormonal shock. But if she gets in there and things look narly, i want the stuff out of my body.

But I have some great chiropractors, energy workers and herbalists working with me too, so I know I'l be fine. I just need to move past the damage done in my second chakra too...it is SOOOOO generational, and I had hoped I'd be able to get past it intact. But the fibroids really *are* the last straw...They are the type of thing that you can spend years and several painful procedures to get rid of, only to end up needing a hysterctomy anyway... no thanks!

88. As we continue our journey,
leaving April and moving into May, with wovenpaint all set to go, here's kind of a closing post. A poem, from C.P. Cavafy: Ithaka.

ITHAKA <1910, 1911>
As you set out for Ithaka
hope that your journey is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon-do not be afraid of them:
you'll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare sensation
touches your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
wild Poseidon-you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.

Hope that your journey is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you come into harbors (you're) seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind-
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn and learn again from those who know.

Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But do not hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so that you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you would not have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.

And if you find her poor, Ithaka won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you will have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.

C.P. Cavafy

Continued blessings, energies, and prayers to all.
