This feels like a miracle!
Some of you may remember that my brother's little dog was stolen from his vehicle while he and his family were vacationing in New Jersey in July 2008.

A pet shelter in New Jersey called my brother today. They found the dog!!! And she is fine. Someone had turned her in, and she has an electronic ID tag implanted in her ear, so they were able to track down my brother to return her. The timing couldn't be better, as he is traveling to the East Coast this weekend (from his home in Arizona), so he will just stop by New Jersey to retrieve little Cleo.

So many weeks of prayers I said after that dog went missing. Thank you St. Anthony, finder of lost objects. Thanks to the universe, for returning that little pup unharmed.

My brother is not a very soft and fuzzy person, but he loved that dog so much. And when she went missing, he immediately--immediately--concluded that he would never see her again. I protested that at the time, but over the course of the past year, I had to reluctantly conclude that he was right.

But that turned out not to be the case! I feel like my naive faith in the goodness of the world has been affirmed.

We should never give up hope! There are angels all around us.

O8)

If only that little dog could talk, tell us of her adventures and where she has been. We will never know. But it doesn't matter. Cleo is coming home!

14. They did a story on the news when Cleo went missing
and I suggested to my brother that they contact the news station to let them know she'd been found. I am sure they would want to do that kind of follow up story. Everybody could use a little good news.

13. This is like seeing a Lassie come home movie...
in real life! It brought the same tears I cried over that film, all those many years ago. Cleo definately has a Guardian Angel. Forgive me if I write "incoherantly" tonight, it feels like the "fungus" in my mouth has gone to my brain and made mush of it! This news has reactivated my tear ducts again tho'!! Blessings on your brother and his Cleo's reunion!! :applause:

15. A friend at work suggested my brother take Cleo to a pet psychic
to find out where she was over the past 14 months. There is no way in the world that my brother would ever do that, but what a cool idea.

23. Cleo is back in Arizona, safe and sound
When my brother arrived at the shelter to pick her up, she knew him right away, and barked insanely. Once he picked her up, she would not let him put her down again.

When she got to Arizona, she knew all the family members right away, even remembered the neighbor kid who happened to be here.

And happily, she gets along fine with the new little dog the bought last Christmas. Now they are sisters.

Just wanted to let you all know.
