Local Dems back Howard Dean to lead national party -CA, Humboldt Co
EUREKA -- The Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee has unanimously endorsed Howard Dean to be chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Dean, the former Vermont governor who unsuccessfully sought his party's presidential nomination, is on a long list of potential Democratic leaders.

The Humboldt Democrats, at a meeting Tuesday picked Howard over former President Bill Clinton and Donna Brazile, who managed Al Gore's presidential campaign.

The hunt to replace current DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe, who was elected chairman in February 2001, has not been without potential candidates. Besides Clinton, Dean and Brazile, the list includes former Labor Secretary Alexis Herman, former New Hampshire Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack.

1. Yeeeeaaaahhhhhhaaaawwwww!
Wish my central committee was this advanced in their thinking! Just got myself sworn in to the executive committee last week... Wearing my FMPumps and my Democracy for America button!
Next meeting, I will wear my birkenstocks, for RedSox!
I am lobbying politely and relentlessly.
With Dean
heading the DNC, we WILL have a viable candidate in 08, whether it is Dean himself, or another progressive.
I love Howard Dean as much as any other Deaniac, but I'll damn well vote for ANYONE who tells the truth and speaks for me.
I would rather we infiltrate the party and grow like a cancer than have to battle it from without.

3. The Progressive Populist Caucus of the TX Democratic Party..
did the same thing today. We unanimously voted to endorse Howard Dean for DNC chair should he decide to seek the position. In our resolution we also made sure that our TX DNC members will get written confirmation, that this is what our caucus thinks is the best way to take back our party nationally. Our membership was also encouraged to individually e-mail Howard Dean and ask him to please take the job.

We want Howard! We want Howard! We want Howard!

YEEEE HAWWWW!!!
