I'm so proud of all of us, incl. Dr. Dean
Like so many of you, I feel so much more hopeful today than I have in weeks.

I feel the Democratic Party, thanks to its grassroots, has saved itself, pulled itself back from the brink of self-destruction and total irrelevance. And that makes me happy.

It made me happy (and AWED!!) to see how Reid and Pelosi and Bill Richardson kowtowed to Dean and the power of the grassroots that propelled him into power at the winter meeting this morning.

It made me happy to see Dean elected by acclimation. And Terry McAuliffe seemed (to me, anyway) genuinely enthused about Dean too. If it was an act, it was a damned good one and I'm grateful for it. If it was genuine, I'm all the more grateful for that and feel a little more charitable toward McAuliffe because of it.

I am proud to be an unrecovered Deaniac, and I know I always will be.

And I'm always so proud and awed by this man we support. He never ceases to inspire and elevate me, never disappoints but always exceeds my expectations.

And I'm so pleased to be among so many great DUers who have been Deaniacs thru thick and thin. Some of the things we've put up with haven't been pleasant but boy, there's some great compatriots here among us, and you've all made the tough times a little easier. Special shout out to MadFloridian -- absolutely indefatiguable font of knowledge and information. I SO appreciate her tireless and too often thankless efforts to keep us all informed.

And isn't it amazing the response Howard is getting here at DU, even among a lot of people who seemed to hate his guts during the primaries and since? Goodness, there's a veritable landslide of support out there. At least they all recognize that he's a clear-eyed fighter for the right things, and EVERYONE seems to understand that's at the core of what we need.

Anyway, thanks to each and all of you, my fellow travelers. How fortunate I count myself to be among you.

1. Pat, pat, pat....
sound of thousands of us patting ourselves on the back. Now let's use those hands and SLAP the CRAP outta the freepers out there. I just saw a movie that had one of those lynch-mob "run-'em-outta-town" type scenes. And it hit me that the freeper mentality is nothing new. They form a mindless, bloody crowd and thrust forward. Witch hunts. Bigotry.
Yellow-ribbons, flags and SUV's, all calling for the death of Muslims while claiming to be spreading "freedom". Bah!
We've got our work cut out for us. Let's not be silent.

They don't learn from history, either. The administration would do well to study the French Revolution. Sometimes the crowd DOES act in a valid defense of their lives. We have our Danton in Howard Dean, if he is struck down, a Marat will take his place.

4. Thanks for saying all this, Eloriel..
It's been an amazing ride so far..like you say .."through thick and thin". And it's so nice to be in the thick of things with Dean leading the way, telling us it's our Party!

And I have been Overjoyed that most of the DUers who weren't on the Dean bandwagon(to say the least), are now supporting him with so much enthusiasm. They are the ones who care about our Country, too, and can see the potential we now have for getting it back from the fascists.

The few(one or two?)who are still whining hateful platitudes regarding Dean have a secret agenda that I sure don't know about.

I would too like to say "a shout out" to madfl for her unerring dedication to reporting on Dean's progress(therefore ours)!

Thanks To All The Deaniacs who knew all along how genuine Dean is! :grouphug:

6. Dean gives me hope and is what keeps that hope alive, I get down
and then hear an encouraging speech or word from Dean and my spirits are lifted once again. Dean keeps hope ALIVE. I wish him nothing but the best in his new found role as Chair.

9. Dean's great!
Hopefully he's got someone working on the DNC website.

And why the hell on the Kicking Ass blog do they have a link to Roger Ailles (sp)? Hopefully Zack Exely and Zephyr Teachout have talked to HD and not just made comments in blogs and the media. I am a little puzzled by ZT's remarks lately.

There should be links to each state party's blog and updated as more come online, somewhere links to state party websites.

I wrote one email with suggestions about media, hopefully someone is advising them about the web site and blog (DNC). The DNC blog still feels a bit impersonal to this blogforamerica reader and poster.
