1. He's so
BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Question: how do you get him in and out the cage?

Do you always use a leash?

5. I just pick him up to get him in and out of the cage
I usually keep the cage on the patio and carry it with one hand and him with the other and set it out and place him in it. He's really good about it because he loves to be outside and loves his kitty walk. Usually when I put him in the kitty walk he isn't on his leash, but after his walk I find it convenient to just snap the leash off the harness before putting him in the kitty walk.

2. Does he go for walks? And does he like that outdoor playpen?
I've seen those in Air Mall and wondered if my cats would like them.

4. I wanted to get that pen for my cat and Chihuahuas. I especially like
the one with the little fabric cabana on the top.

I've been lookin for one on ebay but they are expensive everywhere!

7. He likes both!
You really don't walk a cat the same way you walk a dog. A cat you don't walk for exercise, because they have to stop and smell everything, I mean everything, where as a dog is usually happy to just trot along with you. But Lorien said that with a few verbal commands and just not budging when the cat wants to take you into the poison ivy patch or the storm gutter, or whatever, you can walk the cat. I've been working with him and it's paid off successfully.

6. Yes he is one of a kind
and is so cute about wanting to be out. He really is an extremely good natured and intelligent cat. (and he loves his Mommmy!)

9. Yes he is
Absolutely brightens up my life, though he can get a bit mouthy when he wants to go out and I don't (or if I ignore him in the Kitty Walk for too long).

11. my mother's linx point siamese cries at the back door every time
anyone walks in the kitchen. Her back patio (it is not a yard, she lives in the city) is fenced in, and most of the time, if you watch Maggie she won't be able to make it over the fence.

But she will sit there and cry and cry and cry (siamese death wail, not any ordinary little meow or chirp)

12. Cats love to observe nature
and I can't really blame them for wanting to go out but letting Pad Thai out unsupervised proved not to be an option. I'm glad I could come up with an alternative to let him safely enjoy the outdoors.

13. yes. That kitty walk is wonderful
I wish I had a kitty walk for sooty. She loves it when I open the window and she can just sit there and watch little animals and smell the grass etc.

14. Maybe the price will go down in time
I think they are fairly new. But if you can afford it I must say they are very sturdy and well built, have a metal frame that snaps together and (the patio one I bought) come with a bag you can store it in on trips.

16. WOW. Good pics.
Was that Pad's first time on the lease. He seems OK with it.
Did he fight it at all???
Has Pad ever been allowed to free roam outside?

I want to find a way to let Bug and Mag have some outside time, but I'm afraid that it will just stir up memories for Bug and make him miserable. Maggie would probably do OK since she has been raised inside, but I don't have the heart to let her out and keep Bug inside.

19. I allowed him out for a short time last fall
and regretted it when he disappeared for a few hours one day. After that I've restricted him. No that wasn't the first time. I've been working with him and Lorien has given me a few very helpful suggestions.

I have another cat, Lily who I allow out without a leash, but she stays very close to home and is constantly supervised when out -- she's older and not very quick and she knows it. When I first got Lily I wasn't going to let her out but had two older cats who were indoor/outdoor cats and she wouldn't stand for leash training in the least. I had a yard for her then. Then for ten years I lived in an apartment with no patio or deck even and the cats were inside totally. So Pad Thai had never been outdoors until I moved last year. Since then he's been obsessed with the nature out back of my condo. Since I love to spend time outside I knew I had to find a way to allow my cats to do so, as they just want to be with me. :)

I wouldn't change what you are doing with your cats. They seem to have a wonderful environment. The hoops and tree are wonderful! They are so cute and happy!

17. How long has he been walking on the leash?
he always looks like a "big cat" to me; his long torso and musculature remind me of a few jaguars and leopards that I know. :-)

18. Pad Thai sends a purr for that compliment on his physque
I started him last fall but he kept slipping out of the harness and squirming and misbehaving. I make sure now that the harness is secure. Also I must thank you for your help and comments on how to control him as well. I think the Kitty Walk has calmed him down considerably so he can walk as he's not as excited being outdoors as before. We love our walks now! Thank you :loveya:

23. OMG your black kitty
looks like our friend's kitty, Bud

here he is-

You have beautiful kitties, all of you. I have 6 kitties that are very special to me, and I lost my two oldest and longest cherished furbabies about 2 months ago. On the same day. Long story. My heart still breaks every time I think I see them or when I am doing something that they would spectate and/or interact with me, like pretty much everything! These two were the in-your-face demanding-love two and having them gone is so very hard.

20. I tried to leash walk my kitty when she was young....
It was the funniest thing! her head hung low, as if there was a big weight on her, and she wouldn't move an inch!

21. One of my two cats LOVES to go outside on the leash.
Sonora, my girl, loves the harness and leash. She loves just to "mill around" for about 30 minutes outside most everyday.
The first picture its hard to see her harness but it is on her. You can see it better in the second picture. She loves going outside so much that she thinks she is so cool with her harness on, so we just leave it on her. She loves it. That is her brother (adopted brother) next to her in the second pic, Tennyson.
