Our new tenants!

So yesterday I was digging in the back part of my garden, and noticed that one of my birdhouses was sitting a little crooked, so I shifted it.

Suddenly, "CHEEP! CHEEP CHEEP!"

A family of chickadees has moved in! I was so surprised. The houses have been sitting out there over a year or 2, and none of the birds really seemed interested before. What a lovely addition to my day! Isn't he cute?

Mom came over and sat on the fence to keep an eye on me. You'll notice she left a little grub for him for his afternoon snack. What a good mom!

in the rafters of an overhang out the back door we have a pair of feebees that have build a nest.

We always had a nest of sparrows under the eaves of our house. They aren't here this year :-(.

With us, it's usually a nest of doves that build a nest in the top of my rose arbor. But they're not here this year either.

I guess the real estate deals aren't as great as they used to be for birds either!
