one of our cats is squeaking...

she has never developed a full fledged "meow" -- she just squeaks "ee...ee"

1. I used to worry about Tucker's squeaky meows
Then he developed full meows. Now he lets his displeasure known in full fledged yowls. I kind of miss that squeaky little silent meow.

3. Mine can't meow properly, either.
That is so funny. The title of your post really threw me.
I used to laugh that Bart couldn't meow properly. That changed. But on some mornings he has silent meows.
My cats trill. Prrrrrrrinnng! Prrrrring!
I'll never forget how they were born in the forest, and every morning their mother would come to their hole and say "Prrrrring". And they'd come out. So one morning, I went to their hole and said "Prrring", and to my surprise, they all came out. It was a great achievement. Whenever I wanted to see them, that's what I did.

7. I LOVE cat trills
my moms cat does it, and I have a friend whose cat is always trilling up a storm.
My cat just squeaks. She sounds like a lamb.

4. the "squeaker" (poohkah) is the smallest of our cats
and though she "squeaks" she has the loudest purr

Dutchess, makes regular meowing sounds on occassion - mostly she garners attention by tapping your arm with her paw or a cold nose in your face

Kudra is the talker -- no "meows" - but noises that sound like words -- "ooouuuttt", "noooowwww", "nooooo", "hoooommeee" and "uhh-ohhhh", and every few weeks she gives us a singing recital in the middle of the night

Gato is our big boy - you would expect a big noise coming out of him, but no -- it's a "silent meow", and he has the tiniest purr you ever heard -- the only way you can tell he's purring is by feeling the vibration with your hand, or putting your head on his chest

5. Petey and Richard are our squeakers.
Petey is a huge Siamese mix. He has the markings and the blue eyes, but not the voice. His voice makes him seem timid, but in reality, he is the home's enforcer.

Richard just has one syllable. I wish I could spell it out. It's almost like he's saying "amp." :)

she doesn't meow. She sounds more like a lamb. She has a purr like an 18 wheeler truck though

13. I am not sure.
Sooty is a she, btw. She was a stray who followed me and I gave her some food and then adopted her. She was abandoned, because she was already spayed. Different vets have put her age between 8-12. I thinking closer to 8.

She is a sweetheart. She is as gentle as a lamb. She never hisses, never scratches or bites, and follows me around like a lost puppy. She is very sweet. Her meow is more of a squeak.

9. Genetics
Don't over oil them they end up with diarrea mouthes. Pad Thai has the ability to drive me crazy with his MRRRRRROOOOOOWWWWWW!

Lily's quiet meows are cute, but her silent meow is designed to make a human remorseful over some slight she may have suffered.
