More greyhounds have arrived
I'm involved with a greyhound rescue group in the Wilkes-Barre Pa area. This weekend more greyhounds arrived and are available for adoption.

additionally 5 other greyhounds (previously adopted) were returned and are looking for new homes... reasons for the return vary from divorce, moving or allergies...

check them out and if you know of someone in the region thinking about adopting a dog -- send them the link

1. Such pretty dogs.
That Janis is a real looker :).

I'm still trying to decide whether I can practically handle a dog or not. I'm an apartment dweller, and if I do move again, my cats are usually not a problem, but finding a place that will allow dogs is tougher.

I wish I owned a big ranch so I could have all kinds of animals :).

alot of landlords don't object to greyhounds... A daughter of acquaintance of ours returned to school and was going to live in a dorm, she wanted to take her greyhound with her but was unsure if the school would allow it

at first the school said NO - but when they found out it was a greyhound they said "OK"

the reason is greyhounds are not usually big barkers, they are quiet and well behaved, friendly

suggestion: if you do decided on getting a dog and then have to move to another apartment -- take the dog with you when you go look at the apartment -- sometimes if a landlord meets the dog the objection over dogs disappears-- especially if the dog is well mannered

And like I said, that Janis has a really pretty face :). I'm still contemplating it. Greyhounds are pretty cool dogs too.

So you wanna drive up to Boston and bring me one? :) All the greyhounds with the New England greyhound rescue are non-cat friendly, so :(.

I'm going to think on it some more, and I may very well decide to go ahead and do it.

4. if you decide on it
download an application -- > http://reghr0.tripod.com/id1.html
and give them a call - Ann is always happy to answer any questions (phone number is at the bottom of the application)

a drive out to boston is about 6 hours for us -- but maybe we can work something out to meet halfway?

meanwhile -- (not to tug at your heart strings) here's a shote note from her foster family

Janis was originally very shy but after a short time her personally really started to develop. She has become quite a character and has really come out of her shell! She is very friendly and, at times, almost gregarious. Our greyhound, Hazel, and her have become good friends.

6. *sigh* I decided long ago my next adoptions will be Grey's.
I wish I could adopt one right now but I don't have the room or the $$. My husband said I must stop:mad: at 3 dogs and 3 cats and he's right this time ;-) darn it :-(

But if I could I'd be interested in Azagal (Gloria) first. She's an older girl which is a plus in my book.

Then there's darling LuLu and her sweet wittle self. And Carolina the last one. Never have been a huge fan of the brindle color but she is absolutely gorgeous but more importantly and here again, look at that sweet sweetheart face of hers. (melt-melt-melt)

I hope they ALL get the loving, kind homes they deserve.

7. know how it goes
we fostered a very sweet little greyhound last fall, and fell in love with her and was very tempted -- but we already have 2 dogs (greyhound and an airedale) plus 4 cats

so other than fostering -- our "ark" is full
