After almost a year, we have learned two facts about Shih-tzu dogs.
1. They never have a bad day.

2. They never meet anyone they don't like.

2. Fascinating
It was my parent's Shih-tsu, Tristan, who made me believe many years ago that dogs just didn't like me; he would never let me touch him after puppy-hood when I would come home from college. He was a beautiful, intelligent creature and they loved him dearly for many years. I now think it was some dynamic in their house because their next dog (Papillion) cared nothing for me, or anyone but my Dad, at all.

I've made many doggie friends since then and we now have one of our own who we spoil and adore, and everyone I know with a Shih-tsu talks about what friendly little companions they are. Incidentally, your precious little gal's markings are almost identical to Tristan's. Beautiful little girl!!!!!

3. You know, right after I posted this, I remembered that recent incident in Canada . . . .
. . . where a Shih-tzu bit off a woman's nose after she - a stranger to the dog - put her face too close in too starling a way and the dog lunged and bit.

I was always a big dog person until Sparkly decided to get this one. She has a great deal of . . . . uh . . . . spirit. :)

4. Not a doggy person, but...
...everyone I've met who has had a Shih Tzu as a companion has had nothing but high praise for what a sweet, loving, SMART soul they are...

5. I'm not sure if this is a Shih-tzu but, if so, you can learn a 3rd thing...

They apparently quite well versed in missing mama.
