Goose Poop! Yummy!!

I live 3 blocks from a 50-acre town playing field.

It's a great place to take dogs and let them run around and play off leash (when there aren't any soccer/ball games going on).

However, it's also a great place for Canada Geese to fly in and eat the grass --- and poop, and poop, and poop.

My 1 year old pup eats the damn stuff!

How awful is it for her and what can I do to stop her?

1. We call that goose grease here. Dogs just eat anything,

don't they? But I doubt that it would do any harm to her. I could be wrong, but most parasites or diseases that would affect birds would not be transmitted to mammals. I did say most, because I do know there are a few disease that people can get from birds.

I would do all that I could to discourage this, but I wouldn't sweat it too much if she got a bite or two. I would worry more about a dog eating dog poop. Oh god, is this disgusting.

2. My dog eats poop all the time.

She eats cat poop and bird poop in our yard. There is raccoon and deer poop there, too. She goes to the nature trail and eats whatever is there, too. It doesn't seem to hurt her.

I find it disgusting, and try to stop it when I can. But she is too quick for me.

Hey, at least your dog is not rolling in shit. Once in awhile, my dog rolls in shit. Don't ask me why, but she loves this activity. She likes it a lot better than the bath that follows.
