Reactions to vaccines?
Has anyone had pets that have reacted to their vaccines? Our standard poodle just had her distemper shot and is lethargic, has no appetite and seems to be very achy.

1. Mine have acted sleepy.
Maybe you should call your vet.

2. Cindy had a large hematoma like bump at the site of the
injection. It was the size of a walnut (in it's shell)!

I've had other dogs who were lethargic and drooling. Those symptoms lasted a couple of days. With these dogs (who are now six years old), I am only vaccinating them every three years.

3. A black lab who my dog plays with every day
was kind of subdued for a couple of days after she had her annual shots/vaccines. She seemed to be sore at the injection site. Hasn't happened to my dog.

4. One of my cats reacted
He seemed not to be himself and hid away under a coffee table for a day or two. Wish I knew what he was feeling to make him do it.

6. Our girl died yesterday, not a reaction to vaccine after all
She had an enlarge spleen that had been causing symptoms for months. Every month she'd go off her food for a day or two and be listless, but then she'd bounce back and be her old spunky self.

Sasha will be missed for all the joy she brought us in her thirteen years.

7. I'm so sorry for your loss
Was she 14?
I'm suddenly realizing that my cats are senior and need special care. The older one has been with me 9 years and is somewhere between 12 and 14 yoa. I would be heartbroken if anything happened to either one.

8. Sasha had turned 13 in April
Our cats lived until they were about 18 so I hope you have some good years left for your cats. I have two cats now and there four and cute as can be.

We will now adopt our foster springer spaniel so will be at two dogs as well.
