I wrote about this kitty a few weeks ago, she's a beautiful, all-black (even her whiskers, though they look white in a few photos) long-haired female (I'm 99% sure of sex) that I'm taking in to be spayed and to get her shots next Tuesday (the Ides of March ).
She needs a good, loving home. I don't think she's ever been a housecat because she really does not like to be confined (I've tried to get her in the garage and I've also closed her into our screened-in porch, only to have her find the one loose screen area and escape) but she's VERY affectionate, comes whenever I call her, and likes to be petted, to sit on your lap, etc. Purrs up a storm, and kneads her sweet little feet when she eats. I've taken to calling her Sonia.
I will deliver her to you anywhere in the South/Southeast (I live in North Carolina) or will meet you halfway if you live in the Northeast, Midwest, wherever and are interested in her. If you can give her love and a home and regular food, please consider adopting Sonia! She might need to be an outdoor kitty first, then transition to more regular house-status. Or she might just be happy as a barn cat. I am going to start to travel a lot for work and don't have any trustworthy neighbors who will feed her regularly; she's become accustomed to me feeding her every morning. I really want her to have a good home because I worry about her all-black coloring and weirdo fundie cat haters who might think she's the devil (this is the heart of Jesusland, a friend of mine was shunned for raising snakes b/c of "Adam and Eve" - I kid you not). I am only saying this slightly tongue-in-cheek!
I know there are so many cats who need good homes, and I know many of the cat lovers on this board may already be "tapped out" and have many cats of their own. I know this, and ask anyway. If I could at all manage to take her in permanently, I would. She just needs regular care and regular food and love, and protection from crazy people who think she's satanic. She is a beautiful, sweet cat! And I promise you if she doesn't work out with you, I will take her back and look for another home for her. My ideal life situation will allow me to purchase land in the next few years and I am sure I'll be a collecter of strays, Sonia could have a home with me then, if one of you can foster her for a few years.
Her photo is below, and also go to www.tomthecat.com for more photos (click on the "Sonia" buttons). I'll check here regularly the next few days, please feel free to PM me if you have any questions! Thank you.
