Meet Cleo, our new rabbit
Earlier this week we brought Cleo home from a bunny rescue organization. She's a big, sweet goofy girl, full of binkies (joyful bunny jumps), and very affectionate. When she's full grown she will probably be about 10 lbs. Doesn't she look like Babe the Pig?

We are hoping to bond her with our little 2 lb. Yogi. Here they are in their bonding area. Cleo's asking Yogi to groom her.

Once they're bonded they'll both be free-roaming in our bedroom. Yogi already is, but we have to introduce them in neutral territory to minimize fighting. Yogi's a vulnerable little guy! No fighting allowed!

Also--I realize we're all so sad about Atticus Pye. (I'm still tearing up about him this morning.) I wanted to bring a little joy to the board.

1. Your bunnies are so cute!
Thanks for posting their pics. I hope the introduction period is short and you have many happy times together :-).

2. Adorable! It's so good of you to take in a rescue bunny
I always worry that they might end up in the wrong hands. A lot of people don't realize that all manner of pets can be found on petfinder.com, including pocket pets, bunnies, parrots, horses, goats...all in need of a safe and loving home.

I love her apricot color, and Yogi is SOOOO cute! He looks like my sister's rabbit Cudgie, only smaller and rounder. Like a little anime character.

:loveya:

3. Thanks, Lorien. The bunny rescuer takes great care to make sure
they all get good homes. On the lengthy adoption application, we had to answer lots of questions regarding bunny care, and provide two references who would assure her, she explained, that we will "worship and spoil" our rabbits. :)

We spent the whole afternoon with her and eight bunnies all running around and interacting. So much fun! The only sad part was meeting one little rabbit who was very traumatized--she'd been picked up and dropped by a hawk after someone abandoned her. We would have taken her if we didn't have a youngish cat who would have sensed her fear and seen her as prey.

I hope you are taking as good care of yourself now while you're hurting as you took of little Atticus Pye. And I hope your cats are comforting you.
