A friend of mine lives near a small piece of land in the Phoenix area that is currently housing 9 horses. Not only is the land really too small for that many horses, but their owner is not or can not take proper care of them. And three of these horses are pregnant, so in a few months there will be 12! She and some of her neighbors have gotten together to try to help these horses. They've been feeding them and paying for medicine for them and trying to do what they can. They've contacted a horse rescue group who has been doing what they can, but they have no room to take the horses right now and are having trouble finding someone who can adopt or foster them. If you know of anyone in the Phoenix area who might like to adopt a horse or even just house a horse or two until they are adopted, please let me know. The horses are malnourished but with a little care and proper food all will recover perfectly - none are sick that they know of (and they have had a vet look at them). Also, all the stallions have just been gelded (fixed) as of yesterday. If you're interested or you know anyone who is, I can get you more information and/or put you in touch with the rescue group. Thanks!! :hi:
