I Am Considering Adopting Two Pigeons.
Any Pigeon people here? I found a nest with two babies in it. They have feathers and open eyes, no squawking.

I have wanted pet pigeons for years now. I am considering taking them home and raising them. How ethically wrong would it be to take them as pets?

I would want to imprint on them and then let them eventually fly free during the day. Any advice?

1. Why take them from the wild?
Find a reputable pigeon breeder (one that handles the birds frequently) and adopt.

2. I am probably going to leave them as they are.
If I did take them, it would be so they can imprint on me, and my home. I could then let them fly free, and they would come back to perch and eat.

I don't think, though, that I can take them when they have an able parent.
