4. We still haven't figured her out entirely
the vet diagnosed her with corona virus, but I'm not convinced. So we're still messing with different med/diet combos. She was doing great last week but is back at square one today. Alas.

I'll be at Elke's on Tuesday...I'll see you there?

9. It depends on the strain, I guess
It can either be the pre-curser to FIP or I guess they can grow out of it. The vet seemed fairly unconcerned and assured me that FIP wasn't an issue...thank god!

She was doing better today...it's just frustrating because it's going to take the perfect balance of med/food and we're just not there yet. x(

5. These are just beautiful beasties
I love their faces. What do you mean that Kyra is back to square one? I read your other post about her diagnosis, but am unsure how serious this is.

7. Thanks!
Well, with an attempt to not get too gross, Kyra's original issue was bloody poo. She was placed on medication, the blood went away, but then she was pooing liquid. Back to the vet we went and we got a diagnosis of corona virus. We're messing with her meds/diet to try to find something sustainable, and after a few days of decent poo, I thought we figured it out. But this weekend we were back at the bloody poo stage.

As for seriousness, the vet assures me that she'll grow out of it, we just need to manage it until then. But I'm not entirely convinced that the diagnosis is correct...so I really don't know.

12. When my Sonny was a sick kitten...
***caution : more poo talk! ****

Man, can I ever relate to having poo-vigils! Sonny-kitten's bowel movements were like black coffee for 2 days - no substance at all. It was really frightening. I don't know what he had, but he suddenly snapped out of it. He ended up with what appears to be a neurological symptom (wobbly gait, and muscle weakness), but that developed immediately AFTER his sudden recovery from the digestive illness, so I don't know if they are related. He doesn't know he's wobbly and seems quite content, and that is all that matters to me.

13. awww, poor thing!
That must have been really hard to watch until you knew he'd be ok. If Kyra suddenly got wobbly, I'd freak out.

She seems to be doing well today, so *fingers crossed*!

14. Thank you!
Luckily, whatever's wrong with her hasn't really changed her behavior. She's still a sweet, busy little thing...very much a normal acting kitten.
