It's a boy! And I've named him Oscar.
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 07:50 PM by Trailrider1951
Well, a week ago last Wednesday, I was sooooo missing my dearly departed Puddycat, so I asked for a sign from the Universe at large, that I had done the right thing in putting him to sleep. I had cleaned out his litter box and made plans to drop off the leftover cat food and litter at the neighborhood animal shelter on Saturday. I was thinking that perhaps I would adopt another kitty sometime this new year. Saturday, my landlady came to visit and pick up the rent check, and I told her about Puddycat. She gave me her sympathy, as she had lost two elderly cats last year, and she told me about how a pickup truck came down our private road last Thursday and dropped off five kittens! Two had been adopted already by my neighbors in the trailers down the hill, leaving three that her husband would trap to give to the local shelter (no kill). I told her that my sister and I would adopt the remaining three, so JD would not have to trap them. So now I have a scrawny kitty, about 8 weeks old, who very much needs a forever home. And he is a cutie! But he is half wild and needs to be taught that humans can be kind and loving. He let me pet him for the first time this morning.

I think that the Universe has answered.

I'll post a picture soon.

1. It always has happened that way for me
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 07:52 PM by demnan
I remember after my dear Howard got sick around Thansgiving and and I had him put to sleep and I greived for him through the holidays. Just as it was starting to let up around the middle of January my brother finds the most adorable kitten in his apartment laundry, my dear Lucifer. After Luci I have always had more than one cat at a time.

On edit: WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!!!!!! WE MUST HAVE KITTEN PICTURES!!!!

2. Be brave, my friend, those pictures with come soon!
As soon as my batteries charge, LOL! Plus, Oscar is very shy and hides much of the day. The weekend may feed your habit.

3. I'm sure he will come out soon
no little fella ever hides for long if there's a feathery thing waving in his direction.

4. Congratulations!
This new little guy will definitely help with the pain of loss. I know because, being the pain coward that I am, when I had to put my beloved 18-year-old Pushka down, I adopted one of my boys the same day from a shelter. I could not imagine myself without a sweet kitty to love, and, it had been a very hard year for other reasons.

It helped me to be able to grieve in small increments. My boys (adopted my 2nd kitty two weeks after the first adoption) will never replace my Pushy-bear, but, they surely helped me get over the very huge grief that comes with the loss of a very, very beloved friend of 18 years.

I can't wait for the pics!

7. Here he is, if this works:
I had to follow him into his hiding place behind the curtain on the dashboard of my motorhome.

8. Oscar is SO cute!
I just adopted a kitty after losing my two cats within 3 months of each other.

My Emily is such a joy and helped ease the pain tremendously. As I look at Oscar's picture again, he is almost the same coloring as my new little girl.

I would like to wish you and Oscar many long, happy years together.

He looks like he has a bit of wild thing in him.

So glad you posted pics....

Congratulations...as was said earlier, the universe works in mysterious ways. Your new kitty found you instead of you finding him.

14. He's a cutie! and by those ears I'd say that he has some Oriental
or Middle Eastern blood in him-which means he'll likely be a bright, talkative and devoted companion once his feral ways fade.

Congrats and enjoy your new kitty! :hi:

15. Oh, that is just TOO precious!
I love the first one where he is peeking out at the camera. Don't you love it when they are kittens and they have the big ears? He is one beautiful cat.

16. He sure is a cutie!
Looks like he could fly in those ears. There's something sort of Abyssian about him, especially the shape of the eyes. Glad to see he is coming around. Lucky little kitty.

19. I have no idea why it took me so long to get in here but on that note
Oscar is adorable, I wish you all the best!!

We have a new kitten too, we named him Joaquin and I just love him. Its been over two years since I have cared for a kittycat like this lil tiny bubble. I still had not gotten over the passing of my 15 year old Kittyboy.
