foster dog arrived wednesday
her name is Linda, she's almost 2 yrs old, brindle.

right now she's scared and timid... going to take a few days for her to adjust to the house and the cold weather since she's lived her whole life in florida....

will have some pics up soon

6. this is our 4th foster
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 06:00 AM by radfringe
the first one was Mint - black/white (we later adopted her and now have a matched set, Sunny is also black/white)

Next came Ibuprofen (Boo) a fawn and a handful, but doing really good with his new family

Then there was Abeline, another fawn, real sweet and gentle

so Linda the brindle is a nice change of color for us. She's still a bit timid, but making progress - last night she licked my partner's hand. She's seeking us out for attention, and actually slept in the bedroom last night. Our only problem now is getting to do her business outside. Her "signals" are real subtle and I'm afraid she doesn't like the snow - which makes it all the more difficult.

p.s. on the pics.... Went to take some last night, but batteries were dead in my camera... had to recharge them over night. They are up and ready to go today - so hopefully we can get some nice pics of her

8. Try using a bell
Before letting her out gently ring the bell.

As for the snow... shovel a spot for her. My first poodle wouldn't go potty unless I did that. The adopted poodle would just go straight out in the yard plodding thru the snow until she found a spot to do it. And she was the smaller of my two toys.

Yes it is going to take a bit of time to adjust... I've had a Papillon since last Saturday and about 2 days ago she started sleeping under my computer chair when I am working. At first she would always get up and go looking for me whenever I got up. Now she does it most of the time but sometimes she will stay put.
