The latest issue has some fantastic and WONDERFUL coverage of the rescue of animals in the aftermath of Katrina. I cannot recommend this magazine too highly!!!! It is wonderful!!

(Unfortunately, they do list HSUS and ASPCA..but it is still a great magazine. I have written them a note about the HSUS and ASPCA practices in NOLA)

3. I've been a subscriber for about 2 years

One of the things I like about it is it doesn't just focus on pure-breds and breeders. It has its fair share of mixed-breeds and is aimed at dog lovers. It's not just an advertising outlet for breeders and puppy mills.

The Katrina issue is one of my favorites. Also, read the little story on the back page about what dogs do when you leave. It's hilarious.

6. This one's different from the rest

It's not just a bunch of breed spotlights and half a magazine of breeder ads. It's got book reviews, training articles, historical articles, news...just tons of great stuff.

4. Love it!

I'm just getting ready to renew my subscription. I also gave a subscription as a birthday gift over the summer. I absolutely LOVE this magazine. It's head and shoulders about the other dog magazines that focus on breeds, breeders, and showing.
