DVD Copy programs
Hey I've got a question. I want to copy some of my DVD's for the car, but I can't find a program that will allow me to do it. Is there anything out there that anyone knows of that allows you to copy DVD's whole?

1. Well, there's CloneDVD

it will let you copy whatever parts you want and omit the rest. If you're copying protected DVDs, you'll need to use AnyDVD as well. Both can be found at the following site:

2. DVD Shrink and Nero.
Dig around http://www.videohelp.com/.
There will be links to the relavent software and step by step instructions.
DVD Shrink combined with Nero is probably the quickest, easiest way to do straight rip and burns.

The main problem with DVD ripping is that some commercial DVDs roughly 9GB as opposed to the standard 4GB DVD+/-R consumer disc.
DVD Shrink will let you strip out unnecessary files and then if needed compress the movie to fit on a standard DVD+/-R disc.
If you've got a new-fangled Dual-Layer burner and DL media(still kinda pricey) you could probably burn one straight with no stripping or compressing.

Good luck.

3. I would add DVD Decrypter to that list

Rip it using DVD Decrypter, use DVD Shrink to create and burn an ISO image ... the whole process typically takes about 20 minutes or so on my AMD 3500+ ... your actual time may vary ;)

<on edit> Both are free programs that I don't believe are made/supported any longer, but if you google them you can find places where you can still download them. Here's a quick guide from G4TV: http://www.g4tv.com/screensavers/features/46952/Dark_Tip__Free_DVD_Backup.html
