4-hour rule?
Anybody know anything about this? I'm on dial up and I am told by my ISP, every 4 hours, that I have to sign off, due to some national security bs, which means I have to do a complete restart. And the same thing seemed to have happened during a long distance phone call, after exactly 4 hours, I lost the connection. :wtf:

1. Dial Up GRRRRR
National Security my ass. I hate dial up but some people have no choice.
I remember when I had dial up I had a hard time sending emails because when I finished it I would go to send it and they had cut me off after 15 min and I would lose everything I had typed.
Now that pissed me off. They didn't give me the National Security crap they told me it was their policy and If I didn't like it I could go elsewhere.
This explanation of cutting you off seems more like it.
A common practice when an ISP has oversubscribed their capacity
